Milwaukee Bucks 2011/2012

I only watched the second quarter and thought "Hey, there's some potential here." Good thing I missed the second half.

Not Bucks related but they just played the Wolves so I'll put this here. Why the hell did they sign Barea? He's a terrible player and they already had Ridnour and Rubio, far better players. All they're doing is taking away minutes from them and giving them to Barea.

I think Harris is still probably 2 years away from contributing. He was the youngest player in the draft, and if memory serves, he was more athlete than ball player. Those guys take awhile to find a groove, if they ever do. I liked the Leuer pick then, and like it now. He seemed like a Scott Skiles guy.

I watched Tobias Harris a lot at Tennessee, and he is a very smart basketball player, and a pretty good but not great athlete. I'm not sure whats going on w/ his dehydration issues, but I think he will contribute this season.

David Kahn likes Point Guards. He wants to sign all of them, then make teams trade him for them.

the problem with Hammond's first round picks is that he has taken a project each year. The team lacks star power so the bucks are forced to try to draft a star in the middle of the first round. Jennings is a good nba player but will not be a star unless he improves his shooting ability. in the second round the bucks were able to take good college seniors in Lueur and LRBM.

that being said if you look at who was available when the bucks picked in 09-11, i can only argue that they should have drafted brooks this year. that being said its hard to fault a pick that has yet to make it on the court. I can't say that Jennings hasn't been the best of players drafted just after him and the same for sanders.

I've been pleasantly surprised by Jennings so far. Granted the three teams the Bucks have played have been junk but he's been very efficient so far this year. He's not taking as many shots and the ones he takes aren't being forced. He's got about a 5:2 assist to TO ratio and he's getting to the line. Just needs to start hitting his open threes. I'll be curious to see how this team does against some stiffer competition. Skiles may have a mutiny on his hands if he continues to limit Gooden's and Jackson's minutes but if the team is winning the whining will fall on deaf ears....hopefully.

Haven't had a chance to watch the team this year...but is Larry Sanders going to get some more playing time this year compared to last? He was an athletic guy when we took him (i.e. a project)...but I'd really like to see him get some minutes and see what we have. From the box scores, doesn't seem likes he's played much this year.

Yeah, Sanders is terrible, just like Gooden.

Not saying that Sanders will ever be anything special...I'd just like to give a guy that may not be developed more PT. In regard to his defense, to me that is something related to instincts. He hasn't played basketball all that long...maybe that gets better? I'm not expecting much on offense, but it'd be nice if he could contribute.

I'm not a huge fan of drafting 'projects' this year and last...but at some point and time these guys need to get on the floor and either prove they are NBA caliber or not.

What was the timetable for Sanders when we drafted him? I find it odd that we did this back to back. Even if Sanders pans out...it'll likely be for a different regime.

I think the biggest challenge for the Bucks this year is juggling the lineups throughout the game. With Jackson, Livingston, Dunleavy Jr, Delfino, Ersan, Gooden, Sanders, Leuer & Mbah a Moute (when he returns) all playing some of the 2-4 positions, that's a lot of guys to be subbing in and out, and it's hard to find those good combinations of players out on the floor.

But on the other had, this is also what makes this "3rd Quarter Nightmare" thing so weird. There's no reason the Bucks should be going through lapses of 5+ minutes without field goals, because Skyles should be pulling guys out and putting in other guys to spark the team.

14 point 3rd qtr lead vs Charlotte: Blown

5pt lead with 8 mins left vs Denver: Didn't score for 6 minutes. (scored 5 in the final 8 minutes) and lost.

14 point 4th quarter lead vs Sacramento: Scored 4 points the final 6 minutes and lost.

They are abysmal. The idea that they are running end of game plays for a guy who isn't in game shape is ludicrous. As much as I want to be a Bucks fan, I may have to go the way of a late 90's/early 2000's Brewers fan and simply stop caring.

Yeah, Sanders is terrible, just like Gooden. That is why Jon Leuer is getting good minutes, and rightfully so.
if you look back at how the draft went that year, I can defend the pick since everyone they were looking at were gone and really nobody drafted within 10 picks of him as done anything either, minus maybe eric bledsoe but the bucks don't need a point.
