Does Paul have any say where he gets dealt? Not saying this is ideal, but 2 months from now he probably wouldn't mind going to a contender if NO is struggling.

I wonder if the league is close to selling NO or they believe NO is worth more with Paul. Maybe there is some slight hope that the new owner would be able to convince Paul to stay?

I don't think this trade was way lopsided, but I think NO should have received some high first round picks. I do agree the deal is obviously better than getting nothing...which is something that should have been changed in the CBA IMO as well.

Paul has a say, in the sense that he won't sign an extension with a team he doesn't want to play for.... so New Orleans gets way less back from a team he won't extend with.

Here's where I take issue with the schedule:

The Bucks have 17 weekend road games (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday) and only 11 weekend home games.

In contrast, the Lakers have 19 weekend home games and only 11 weekend road games.

I'm not saying that small market teams need special treatment, but at least give them a fair shot at filling seats.

I like the Bucks, but the NBA is rigged.

as it is, i'm almost off of MLB because there's no chance for the small markets to win. why should i become a Bucks fan? aren't the small markets just developmental leagues for the big kids? i think the only reason i pay the slightest attention is because of Bogut. rare to find someone as talented as he is who is fun to watch, great with the fans and so funny. i guess if Stern wants to market the NBA toward its players and not the teams, then i'll just become a fan of whatever team Bogut plays for.

Most of the weekend dates at the Bradley Center are filled up. That's why.

i know the bucks always request the max saturday night games. Not sure about the BC schedule. Last season the bucks had 16 sat night home games and only 1 sat night road game. not sure what happened this season...

With the lockout impending, the Bradley center couldn't take the wait-and-see approach for booking other gigs, and gave away a lot of the NBA-reserved dates.

Lockout or not, a Michael Jackson tribute act, the Admirals and Monster Jam should take a back seat to the Bucks. Outside of maybe Monster Jam, which I'm sure will be packed, I'd bet the downtown businesses would agree.

On another note, do they even have non-country concerts at the Bradley Center anymore? I haven't seen one that I would consider attending in at least five years, and I get e-mailed all the announcements of shows.

No they shouldn't take a back seat. The Bucks got priority with the first schedule and always get priority. The Admirals, Marquette, concerts and all that other stuff took the remaining dates. You can't ask all those teams and concerts to just cancel those dates or move them around somewhere else when people bought tickets for that specific day.

While they did give up a lot, the Clippers still have the necessary superstar in Griffin and now have a top flight PG to go with him. They still have Jordan, picked up Billups, and have a decent up and comer in Bledsoe. They are going to be strong.

Hurts to lose Gordon, but the Clippers should still be decent. I'm not sure I like this haul better than the other one for NO. I think this trade hinges on the draft pick from Minnesota. Hornets should be competitive, and they got younger pieces, but I think they would have been better the next 2 years with Gasol/Martin/Odom.

Haven't chimed in on this thread yet but thought I would give my two cents.

If Bogut can finally stay healthy for once and if Jennings can learn how to shoot; I think the Bucks can shoot for 35 wins or so (35-31) and maybe a 6 seed. Unfortunately the East is very Top heavy and find it very unlikely that the Bucks could ever make it out of the 1st round. And if they have injury issues and Jennings doesn't progress they are probably looking at 25 wins and another pick from 7-13 that won't yield a superstar that the Bucks desperately need.

IMO the ceiling on this team just isn't very high but they do have a pretty low floor. Being a middling team in the NBA is a deathwish; not bad enough to get the high draft picks and not good enough to do anything in the playoffs.

They were getting Scola, Martin, Odom. The Rockets were going to get Gasol.

The Clippers also recently signed Caron Butler. So they aren't "gutted" by any stretch of the imagination.

I like the teams depth, now that Prince Luc is back in the mix and Dunleavy as well. Playing 66 games in 120 days is going to put its strain on the bigs though. If you told me Bogut would play 50 games this year at 90% or better, I'd take it.

The Bucks have depth, but in my opinion, all of the depth is basically the same - mediocre players.

The Bucks are just in a bad spot, spinning the wheels. They're not horrible enough to get a top 3 pick and get a superstar player but they look just good enough on paper to maybe contend for the bottom playoff spots and get knocked out in the first round. They've been here for years, just keep filling in spots with guys, try to patch it together and make the playoffs, but they never really did a rebuild like they need to. Bucks only shot is to be horrid for 2-3 years and nail the draft picks that come with that.

All Hammond does every year is seem to attempt to fix whatever mistake he made the year before (Jefferson, Maggette are examples).
