Milwaukee Bucks 2011/2012

"Comparing the NFL playoffs to the NBA playoffs is ridiculous on so many levels."

...woah there, bud. My only point was getting into the playoffs might have been fun for the Buck and their fans. Additionally, in the "what if game" you could see a situation where they might have found their way into the second round. As we in the NFL and now the NHL, you never know once you get in. Sure, the NBA hasn't produced as many upsets, sorry if I was "ridiculous"...

How would getting in have been fun? Playing in front of 15,000 Bulls fans at the Bradley Center? Sure Rose may have still blown out his knee and Noah still may have gotten hurt and the Bucks may have advanced because of that but is it really something to hang your hat on? We beat a team that lost a top 5 player in the league and one of the best centers. Let's have a parade.

And I'm still not convinced they beat the Bulls anyways. The Bucks couldn't defend five chairs much less five people who can actually move and the Bulls are still a good defensive team because of Thibodeau's system, so it's no guarantee the Bucks would've scored enough to beat them.

Not sure why people would be attached to the original name. It's not like there's been much success in that building.

I don't think anyone's attached to the name. I just think after 25 years it's unlikely people are going to start adding BMO Harris in front of Bradley Center.

I agree.

It looks like they will be turning the side of the arena into a billboard, so there's that. They will also get endless plugs in the media coverage of the games held there. Not sure if that's worth $18 million, but I'll take it. Perhaps they are grooming them as the 'namor' of a new arena. If that's the case, hopefully they reap some benefits.

I never heard of them before today so I guess that's one person. I don't think it is worth it either but just the announcement of the deal today probably got them $1 million worth of press.

NBA related but not specifically Milwaukee. The NBA has to be dreading some the of the possible match ups in the Finals ratings-wise. I think the two teams who are far and away the best in the West made the championship game but neither are big markets at all. San Antonio and OKC are two of the smallest markets and Indiana is in there as well. Miami and Boston are the big boys left standing. Could you imagine how much the nba is fearing a OKC vs SA and Indiana vs Philly conf championship

I get that it's all about money, but why wouldn't you want the best TEAMS playing in the Championship? Granted, any of Indiana, Philly, Miami or Boston will be demolished by my Spurs, which is fine, but the Spurs have been one of the best franchises of the past 20 years, that plays the game fundamentally sound, and flat out wins.

I completely agree. The San Antonio and Oklahoma City series should be great basketball. If it ends up Miami and Boston that will be the ratings grabber that the NBA wants. One of those two vs SA/OKC should make the NBA happy enough - not Miami vs LA happy but happy still

I'm sure I'm in the minority but I would actually prefer to watch OKC vs. San Antonio. In any case, I hope either of them smoke Miami in the finals.

I am in the same minority. That is going to be a great series that I am excited about - and I dont follow the NBA that closely

And the spurs (and Steven Jackson) are out.

Go Boston!

Sadly, yes. I'm not one to complain about calls, but wow, in a playoff game, there were some insane calls and no-calls. I admit, I have Spurs-colored glass, but wow. I am happy the Spurs showed up and battled. They just stopped going to the hoop in the 3rd quarter and were nowhere close to hitting the shots they were in the first half. I just hope they reload for next year.

I'd like to see the Bucks draft 7'1" Meyers Leonard out of Illinois. Leonard easily has top 5 talent but thanks to Bruce Weber's coaching, and some immaturity on Leonard's part, he could be available at 12 and he's a steal there.

There's been some big guys from the Big Ten (Koufas for example) that haven't been all that good but Leonard is much more skilled. He just needs to learn to bring it every night, and Milwaukee would be a perfect place for him.
