Milwaukee Bucks 2011/2012

GB12

The reports today are suggesting a 66 game season, beginning on Christmas.

So, somehow they have lost 2 months of "real time" and only one month of games. Look forward to a lot of back-to-back-to-back games, and 4 games in 5 days. I'd rather have a 50 game season and good basketball.

Some rather interesting trade rumors out there with the Celtics willing to trade Rondo for Paul and the Nets willing to trade Lopez and 2 1st round picks for Howard and Turkoglu. I wonder if the Bucks could do a mega deal and send both Bogut and Jennings to the Hornets in return for Rondo, Okafor, and a 1st round pick. Probably more of a fantasy there than a reality.

I read on one of the sites that the Bucks should show interest in Jamal Crawford for his scoring. Brilliant idea, as the Corey Maggette project worked so well. I think Captain Jack will actually succeed here. If we can get decent performances out of the supporting cast, I could see a 7-8 seed again.

I think the Jamal Crawford thing was just a guess by an SI writer. Gery Woelfel just had an article that said the Bucks have contacted the agents for Caron Butler and Joel Pryzbilla. I've always loved Butlers game, but it scares me that both these guys are coming off major injuries.

The Bucks would probably also have to get a 1st round pick, or decent player in return, but barring another serious injury Bynum has the potential to be a great center, and is 3 years younger than Bogut. It wouldn't be the worst trade ever.

Its not trading Kareem, but I want no part of Bynum, chronic leg/knee problems on big men never seem to get resolved.

Oh, and I want no part of a guy who did this...

I pay very little attention to NBA so my knowledge is limited. Oddly enough, I am really only interested by the storylines and offseason.

Initially I thought swapping Bynum for Bogut would be awesome. Bogut injuries have me really scared about his long term effectiveness. With that being said I thought Bynum would be signed for longer and cheaper than he is. Bogut is controlled for 3 more years at 12 mll per and Bynum is controlled for 2 more at 15.5 per. I don't get why Bynum is so highly thought of. He's big and athletic and has upside but it sure seems like he is nothing more than a money sink. 1 out of 5 seasons being healthy. When his contract is up someone is going to still give him mega money.

It's also ridiculous that the NBA couldn't have done away with players forcing their way out with the new CBA. If Chris Paul forces his way to NY and Howard forces his way to LA the NBA should just contract about 8 teams so only the major markets are left.

The Knicks would need a 3rd team to get involved in a trade for Paul and even then I don't see that happening. I don't even see the Knicks being able to afford Paul, Amare, and Carmelo.

I wouldn't mind the three team trade with the Bucks getting Bynum but the Bucks would have to get a 1st round pick in that deal. Preferably a 1st round pick for 2013 as I really like Rakeem Christmas and I believe he will come out after his sophomore year. He needs to get bulkier though if he is to be a NBA center but he has been listed as a power forward also. He would need to work on both his offensive and defensive skills to be a great player but he has all of the tools you would want in a big man to be a really special player.

looking at January's schedule it is a beast, the nba did the bucks no favors.

Oh come on, we're complaining about a schedule that's one of the better ones in the NBA? The Bucks have no excuses regarding the schedule.

I really don't think that the Bucks are that bad considering the general state of the Eastern conference. By default if nothing else, I'd give them better than a 50 percent chance of making the playoffs- much higher if Bogut is 90 percent of where he was pre-injury. Yes, I know, they will be fodder in the first round....

Who is going to be good, besides Miami and Chicago?

Boston is old and has made a huge mistake messing with Rondo's head by dangling him trying to get Paul, Orlando is on the verge of trading Howard.

The Bucks were horrible last year, but they missed more games and minutes from their rotation guys BY FAR, over any other team in the league. When you're 9th and 10th guys are suddenly your 6th and 7th guys, its tough to win.

I have hope for the season, I think the Bucks relatively young legs will help them win a couple extra games.
