Milwaukee Bucks 2011/2012

Its way too early to throw Harris into that list. Maybe too early for Sanders (but he has his foot in door).

But I'm agreeing with the basic premise. Jennings is good, but not a piece to build around. He still isn't a good shooter, small for a defender, and his attitude after missing the All-Star game...Ugh.

It might be wiser to trade for some younger talent that are blocked on their current team than a bunch of draft picks. Especially since the teams that will be interested in some of our players are playoff teams looking to add a piece or two, thus low round draft picks.

Tobias Harris looks like he is going to be a very good player, I think he will be our long term starting 3. I'd love for the Bucks to give Sanders more consistent minutes, I've seen him play well at times, but w/ Skiles in charge I don't see that happening.

I don't have a problem trading Jennings, but I would need a guaranteed lottery pick or a very promising young player, and I would like to include Gooden and Jackson in to help w/ our salary cap situation. I don't want Bogut traded until he's healthy, his value has to be very low right now.

The Bucks should try to work out a long term deal w/ Ersan right now, if hes too pricey, I think they can trade him and Delfino to a contender for a 1st round pick.

I was thinking about this the other day. And keep in mind I don't pay much attention to the NBA. But I've heard talk about Boston looking to trade Rajon Rondo. Is there any chance we could work some sort of three way deal in which Boston gets Brandon Jennings, Rondo goes to a third team, and we get a first round pick in return? Depending on who the third team is we could also maybe get an additional second rounder. Or we could include another player (Stephen Jackson, Ersan Ilyasova) and get another first round pick in 2013.

The Bucks need to commit to a full fledged rebuilding project. Being the 7-10 team in the conference every year does make you any fans, and typically getting the 10th-15th pick in the draft isn't going get you a solid contributer right away. If they trade Jennings, get lucky in the lottery and maybe get a top 5 pick, then get another pick down in the 15-20 range in this deep draft I think they can start the rebuilding mode right away. Maybe get a Thomas Robinson, Jared Sullinger or Harrison Barnes for the front line along with a guy like Kendall Marshall or Troy Wrotten to replace Brandon Jennings.

I can understand your view on Sullinger. Marshall, however, I think would be a solid pick if he falls to the second half of the first round. While, he's not going to give you 20 points a game, he is second in the country in assists right now at over 9 a game. I watched him a few days ago against Duke and while he forced a few passes at times, he seemed to really be a pretty decent point guard. I think if he realizes his role as a pass first point guard he'd be a solid player.

So assuming the Bucks get him, they'd definitely need a scorer with their other first round pick. I really like Thomas Robinson but I think you need a top 3 pick to get him. I think Barnes will eventually turn into a guy that can get you 15-20 points a game. There are others too. Barnes is just a name I threw out. But like I said, Robinson is the guy I'd like most.

I think Marshall will be a decent NBA player, but is nothing to get reall excited about IMO. A good role player, can run an offense, but not a key building block for a team needing to rebuild.

But I understand what you are saying...

It's going to be an interesting 10 days until the trade deadline. Right now the Bucks are 4 games out of the playoffs, and playing Philly, Chicago and the Knicks this week.

If they lose all 3, will they finally give up on the 8th seed and try to look toward the future? I think Ersan has some real value to a contending team right now, and hopefully we can get a 1st rounder or a young prospect for him. I'd also like to see Leuer, Harris and Sanders get more minutes.

I get what you are saying and I don't mean to imply that I think he will be a perennial all-star. Nor I am implying we should take him anywhere near the top 15. He's not even my first point guard choice. But if we happen to get a second 1st round pick somewhere in the low teens or high 20's I think we could do worse than getting a Kendall Marshall. And this is assuming he even decides to go, which he might now. But I think if you can get a guy that can give you 10 points and 7 or 8 assists a game, that's something I can get on board with.

I don't generally root for teams to lose so they get better draft picks, but I kind of hope the Bucks do lose all three. It's the only way they will accept that not only are they not a good team, they need to blow up this team and start over. Milwaukee and it's casual fans will not get behind a team that is a perennial 7th-10th place team. If losing all three games convinces them to trade away some guys and gets them extra first-rounders this year then that's what I want to see happen.

great win tonight. alot to still be worried about the team. jennings started off on fire and i knew he was done passing for the night and pretty much was. i think a couple of moves over the next week and a half would keep my interest for the rest of the season. if not that its watching the kids like sanders and harris.

If they don't, at the very least, trade Ersan in the next 10 days, I will give up as a Bucks fan until Kohl sells the team.

i agree his recent play has increased his trade value and he has already said he wants to play in turkey next season anyway. i think jackson is gone as well. i think udrich is another option since i don't see the bucks using him the way he wants to. basically besides bogut, everyone should be expendible. (i know bogut is injury prone but they could never get fair market value for him)

Yep, Harris isn't even 20 years old yet. If he were a Brewers draft pick, people would be praising the upside of drafting a guy so young. As for Sanders, and Harris, you just don't get franchise players at #15. If you look at the 2010 draft, the only player picked after Sanders that is significantly better is Landry Fields and maybe Trevor Booker, but they are forwards; everyone else is an also-ran.

I get though that your point is not to draft at #15 - to get lottery picks in good drafts.

I fully expect these guys to win the next two games because they cannot be figured out using any form of logic. If they start looking good, they revert to horrible form, and once they appear to have given up, they start playing well again. I predict that they will end up with the 9 seed and the 11 spot in the lottery.

The 11th spot wouldn't be bad and I am kind of liking the idea of the Bucks drafting Jeremy Lamb. Lamb would be a great #2 for the Bucks and would be someone that the Bucks could really use.

I am still hoping maybe some how the Bucks can get the #1 pick and take Drummond.

I agree with Yoshii, Davis is the front runner for 1. I think Drummond slips to 3-4. Would love to see Davis in Milwaukee, if Skiles is still here, he would seem to be his dream player.

Another move I'd love to see the Bucks consider this off season would be to bring Ray Allen back. He is still in decent shape and was a HUGE fan favorite when he was here. The Allen-Payton trade had to be one of the worst trades in the history of the franchise. I'm not counting on him to turn the franchise around or anything, but I think he's still a decent player and would draw some interest back in the team. And if I remember correctly he enjoyed his time here as well. Two lottery picks and Ray Allen and I'd definitely show some interest in the team next season.

I'd be willing to bet a lot of money that Anthony Davis will be the number one pick. I'm not even sure that Drummond will be in the top 5.

If teams pass on Drummond in the top 5 they are going to be regretting that decision. Drummond has a high basketball IQ along with a very good work ethic. He is also a top notch defensive player who can play either the 5 or the 4. Some scouts have him compared to Amare. I don't believe Drummond is an Amare offensively but he is 10 times the defender Amare is, was, and ever will be. Teams are going to regret passing on Drummond in the draft if they do. While Davis maybe the #1 pick I see Drummond fitting in better than Davis in Milwaukee as a compliment piece to Bogut. Offensively Drummond is going to be a work in progress but he should be defensively at or near an elite level when he comes into the league. I believe Drummond will have that drive that will make him a top 15 star in the NBA he will be someone that teams will want to build around.

Gery Woelfel feels there's a good chance to Bogut will be traded before the deadline. Not sure how much stock to put in it, but seems plausible at this point.

I'd much rather see them move Jennings than Bogut if they are going to blow it up. its so hard to find a center and he is probably in the top 5 of the league. i am not sure how high his value would be being hurt each of the last 3 seasons. that being said if some team wants to throw picks and young players at hammond, then go ahead. If its just for a team to take Jackson without the bucks taking on significant money, then i oppose the move. I think it makes sense to move Ersan. I think the injuries of bogut has increased his stock level. if he does intend to play in turkey next season, then the bucks should try to get something for him.

I would really love for the bucks to give harris, leuer, and sanders a chance to play so the bucks can evaluate them. I know harris and sanders have been given increased minutes, but why leuer sits confuses me.

How could Bogut be traded at this point? Don't guys in the NBA have to pass a physical? This is not even mentioning the fact that it would be the height of selling low. Was it last year or the year before that Timberwolve fans were talking about trading Love for him? At this point, I couldn't imagine getting anything more than a few first rounders from a playoff team for him.

I am sure the team has the option of accepting the damaged goods. The Bucks could've traded Redd's expiring deal when he was out with his knee injuries.
