Jennings and Irving are a good comparison. Irving is having an outstanding rookie year.

Kinda weird to think that in another era, Jennings would be a senior at Arizona right now.

While i'm a casual Bucks fan, i also like to look long term for all my sports interests. So here's my question. The team is currently the 8th seed, do they have the talent(assuming Bogut comes back around the playoffs) to make a deep run in the playoffs, or would it be better to hope they tank the rest of the year to get a high draft pick? I've heard the draft class this year doesn't look very deep. It just seems this team has been stuck in "basketball hell" for the past few years.

there are so many horrible teams that tanking wouldn't get them a top 5 pick. so it's really not worth tanking, because the 16th pick is just as "hit or miss" as the 10th pick will be.

if they want to acquire some big pieces for the furture, they will have to do so via trades (acquiring draft picks)

In my view, there is not anyone in this draft worth tanking for. In past drafts, there were guys obviously (at the time) worth tanking for. I'm talking the years with Oden/Durant, James, Duncan, Iverson, Big Dog, Webber, Shaq, Ewing, etc. This could very well be a deep draft relatively speaking, but I don't see one player who is going to step in as a difference maker within a few years.

So the bloggers at yahoo had there All Star Projections up. Not only do they not have Jennings in the ASG, they don't even have him in there 10 (or so) just missed the cut. Kind of disheartening. When was the last time a Buck even made the All Star Game? I seem to remember Redd making it a time or two but obviously that was several years ago

Redd was in the ASG for the '03-04 season.

I'm not sure what to make of this team. Two years ago, they looked like they had built a solid defensive team. They played well in the post-season. Last year, they fell flat. Jennings regressed a bit (or at least didn't progress). This year looked like last year to start... now suddenly looks like two years ago. Beating LA was nice. But beating Miami twice is impressive.

I say pedal down and see where they can go.

They claim they just didn't see enough from Hobson and let him go. They said they had no pending moves at this time, but who knows. I hope it's bringing in Joel Przybilla or trading Jackson.

Bucks are playing the 4-20 Pistons tonight. A team they already beat twice this year. This is a game they really need to win if they're going to actually make a move this year I think. Especially with the Bulls coming in tomorrow night.

I've heard the opposite about this draft. It's supposed to be pretty deep, depending on who comes out.
Considering Sullinger, who almost for sure would've gone top-3 last year, might get pushed down to 7-8-9 this year, the draft is much deeper than any in the last few years.

its still a crapshoot, all the elite players are still freshmen and you can't really know much about a player playing 1 year of college basketball. i know some are obvious. I am a player like Barnes will have a good nba career, but where the bucks are picking, who knows?

What's the group of foreign players like?

How the heck did the Bulls get Charlotte's pick in the upcoming draft?

Edit: TYRUS THOMAS???? Wow. What a fleecing.

I don't really know how NBA trades work, but I've heard them talk about this draft pick on the radio before. I'm pretty sure it's a lottery protected pick.

I did some googling and found this:

You don't have an Adam Wainwright. Easily the best gentlemen in all of sports. You don't have the amount of real good old American men like the Cardinals do. Holliday, Wainwright, Skip, Berkman those 4 guys are incredible people

Yeah, it's protected. The guy on The Score said it wasn't. Shame on him for making me upset!

Still, it's going to be a decent pick especially for a team as good as the Bulls.

That is what you get for drafting well. Players that don't fit your team anymore still have some draft value to move around. We tend to get retread cast-offs...

Bulls got lucky in the lottery to get Rose.

The Bucks recent crappy stretch has everyone talking draft again? I am sure I will flip flop on this team a couple more times in the coming months. At this point the best we can hope for is a #7/#8 seed only to get killed by Chicago or Miami or we miss the playoffs and get lucky and win the lottery. But it is looking more and more like it will be another pick in the #10-15 range.

Guys like Tyrus Thomas are precisely why I have no interest whatsoever in this team tanking.

As for the Bucks, over the next month they will be playing a bunch of the Eastern teams that they are competing for playoff position with. I see several winnable games along with several games that a playoff caliber team should win. This stretch of games should be very telling. I will say that this team is much more entertaining to watch again this year. They were nearly unwatchable last season. Very disappointing that they couldn't pull down an rebound at the end against Phoenix the other night.

Its more than Rose. Rose is the superstar, but they are pretty good at drafting good support players also. Like Noah.

If Rose was on the Bucks, everyone else on the team would be a good support player.

Brandon Jennings told ESPN he's exploring options to sign with a big market team when his contract expires and I don't really blame him.

http://espn.go.com/nba/st...omework-big-market-teams

As the article said, the trend is to build these super teams in three or four cities and the rest of the league is left to pick amongst the scraps. Whether he deserves a big free agent contract or not is another story, just wanted to hear what others thought.
