Ex Phillies?

How about Brad Lidge or Roy Oswalt to the Brew Crew? Neither are there dominant selves anymore but both would be beneficial to the team...especailly Lidge. I think the Brewers need one more effective pitcher to add to that bullpen. It has been talked about on here about opportunities for closers this offseason but I am not sure that opportunity is out there this year for K Rod (let alone Lidge). Lidge would be perfect to step into the K Rod role . Oswalt wouldn't be a necessity, but as a 4th starter he would push Wolf to the 5th spot and Narveson to the pen. Narvey and Braddock in the pen would make for two lefties and more balance. I know money is not endless in Milwaukee but I think 2 of Reyes/Lidge/OSwalt is very possible.

2 of Reyes/Lidge/Oswalt is possible for the Phillies, not the Brewers. The Brewers will be getting 0 of those 3.

I think you could give Reyes most of Princes money. Than give the rest of Princes money plus a little extra to Lidge. Oswalt might not be necessary but the first two guys I really think they could make work. IF necessary, trade Wolf or Hart.

Sure its possible for the Brewers. Not probable, but its possible. I would imagine last offseason, we would have said Grienke and Marcum weren't probable either....

I would agree on the "more likely." But the Brewers have the money to sign two of them. And if they want to go "all in" again, it might be less expensive doing it that way than all the prospects we gave up last year. And Mark A seems to be a bit more loose on the purse strings than previous owners.

Signing Reyes and Lidge, we would give up a 1st round pick and maybe a second (not sure of Lidge's FA type status), but gain 4 1st/2nd round picks from losing Prince and K-Rod.

Add Gamel and an inexpensive 1B backup and we aren't much off of this year's team.

But its still a long shot for the Brewers.
