It was funny, but ultimately disappointing. The hype made it seem like it was going to be someone really cool and leaking it so far in advance left a lot of time to speculate and get hopes up.

 

Plus, this guy had made an appearance before, so it wasn't even something new. He was in the dugout before another game and they had that on the broadcast and on the news.

 

In retrospect, it just feels like it was the opening joke on a night that felt like the punch line was on us.

Funny? It was bush league. Almost as bush league as having a wild-card pennant up at the stadium. Opposing fans laugh at that kind of stuff

This was a pretty embarrassing moment for the team that I hope is never brought up again. It would have been one thing to do this towards the end of the season, but during an elimination playoff game? Pretty bush league, like the Truth said above.
