I think with what Wolf did against the Cardinals last night coupled with Narveson's success against them, I'd seriously consider giving Narvy the game 6 start ahead of Marcum - go with Johnny wholestaff behind him if he gets into any sort of trouble.

I don't disagree with starting Narveson...but I think with Marcum you'll get the same idea. Give him the start, and if there's any trouble be ready for Narveson/Johnny Wholestaff. I don't think Marcum will have much of a leash.

whoa whoa whoa.... I don't have DVR here. Are they talking about marcum in game 6?
RR said before the game it would be Marcum no matter what.
Did not hear that. That is... disheartening. Hard to win game 7 if you get blown out in game 6.

If I'm RR, I'm going with Gallardo in game 6 and Wolf in game 7 if you can get to it. I think pitching Marcum is going to be a huge mistake. I hope I'm wrong though.

Fun facts of the day:

1. Braun has faced Dotel 9 times, and struck out 7 times.

2. No team has won any postseason series when their starters failed to go more than 5 IP in any of 1st 5 games. The Cardinals have not pitched more than 5 innings this series.

So back to back starts on short rest? Just an awful idea. Can we stop with all this already. Marcum will get the start (as he should since he's one of our 3 best pitchers) but probably have a short leash.

This is Jack Burton in the Pork Chop Express, and I'm talkin' to whoever's listenin' out there.

#1 is pretty crazy. I still can't believe he struck out on that pitch.

As far as #2, I wonder how many times that has actually happened (no starters making it more than 5 IP).

It's do-or-die. Not the regular season. Gallardo on back-to-back short rests looks a lot better to me than a Marcum that seems to be having serious, and I mean serious, issues right now.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see how it pans out.
