2011-10-13 Brewers (Wolf) at Cardinals (Lohse) - 7:05 PM CDT [Brewers win, 4-2; NLCS Tied 2-2]

Bombers
Ron's not looking like an idiot after that inning. Dominant after the lead-off double. I'll take Wolf in there keeping scoreless innings (avoiding big innings) in trade for another run. I think the Brewers can score more, and I think Wolf can go another. He looks good.
I don't know whether I am more stunned that Roenicke did what he did or that people seem to agre with it.. it isn't about Wolf as much as adding at least 1 or 2 or 3 runs...

At this point why would you take Wolf over Hawkins / Saito.. at best you could say it is even which then says take the better hitters..

But at this point we need scoreless innings, and Saito doesn't usually pitch on consecutive days. How many pitches for Wolf so far?
That's a good point. Plus there's a game tomorrow.

I would honestly consider Loe if Craig was leading off instead of the pitcher's spot, he would face a string of righties.

Give Wolf a shot to get through the 7th. If he gives up a baserunner, go to the pen. We have a game tomorrow and need those arms tomorrow. Especially considering they both pitched last nigh I think...

Dotel looked sharp that inning

The Wolf move worked. Bring him back for the 7th?

It didn't work because we didn't score. It really isn't about Wolf, it is about maximizing your offense and trusting your very deep bullpen.

I agree, a 5-2 lead vs 4-2 would be huge. Bring in Lucroy and Gomez to try and scratch at least one more run.

Now we still are in that danger zone of one guy gets on and a homer ties it.
