Brewers likely to stand pat with NLCS roster

Per Tom Haudricourt:

Don't expect any roster changes

Based on what Milwaukee Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said on Saturday

afternoon, he won't be making any roster changes -- as teams are

allowed to do -- prior to the NLCS opener tomorrow at Miller Park.

Everyone is healthy, so really, the only spot that might have been in flux was the last spot on the bench.

Roenicke went with rookie Taylor Green over Josh Wilson, largely

because of the lack of lefties in Arizona's bullpen. While St. Louis has

a pair in Marc Rzepczynski and Arthur Rhodes, it looks like Roenicke is

still going to stick with Green as his final bat.

"We set the rosters tomorrow morning," Roenicke said. "We'll probably keep it the same. But we're talking about it."

Green got just one at-bat in the NLDS, going 0 for 1 as a pinch-hitter in Game 4 in Arizona.

St. Louis, meanwhile, will actually have to make a change to its

starting lineup, as second baseman Skip Schumaker (oblique) is expected

to be replaced by Nick Punto.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

I expect the roster to be the same. If there was any issue for the NLDS I thought it was as to whether the pitcher count should be 10 or 11, not whether the there needed to be a decision between Green and Wilson. In a 7 game series I think there is more justification for carrying both Narveson and Estrada, but it might be worth considering dropping one of them and carrying another bat/infield replacement.
