Going to the game today? - Stand up, yell, scream, cheer, start chants ... whichever

Bombers

Just don't sit down ... not today. Not with a chance to go get a penant. I want Miller Park to be the 10th man today. I want Miller Park to be like squad six, just repeated in every section. I want it loud. I don't want you to sit. I want everyone to lose their voice. I know I am going to try my best. Homefield advantage is only an advantage if the fans want it to be. Lets get loud, a little bit rowdy and send the snakes back to the desert.

Go Brewers!!!!!

I agree. Nothing pisses me off more than people telling me to sit down when I'm standing up and cheering during a key moment in the game. People need to man up and become real fans. We need this win! Also, if anyone needs tickets check out my topic in the trading post. We need more real fans in the stands!

I dont know whats worse, people telling you to sit down during a key moment in the game, or as I experienced this week, AZ fans infatuated with the wave during key at bats during the game. I will be there in spirit tomorrow as I have to work, but I may just have to take the fire truck out for a victory lap with lights and sirens if we win tomorrow. lol

Granted, I dont live in Milwaukee but just based on what ive seen on jsonline and the WISN websites, it seems the Brewers are getting alot of media coverage. Contrast that with the AZ news, I flipped between the ABC,FOX and independent stations tonight during the 10pm news, and the most the series got was maybe a 3 minute discussion on the independent station. Even if AZ should manage to win tomorrow, I guarantee if they lose in the NLCS, the Dbacks bandwagon will get alot lighter again and they will be back to 19k/game attendance like is the norm.

Looks like my tickets won't sell on stubhub so I'm gonna cut out of work and head down to the game. It's gonna feel like heading to the gallows but I am gonna do my best to cheer on the Brewers. The crowd really needs to do their part to turn this thing around. The team does feed off of it. I'm gonna snort a ton of coke and down half a case of Sun Drop. Let's do this. It's go time.

not sure if serious about the last part but this was funny.

I'll be there skipping class to scream my head off. I lost my voice last weekend and I plan on doing the same tommorow.

YES! Lets do this. I was amazed / annoyed on Sunday with the father & son sitting in front of me. The did not clap at all during the game. The kids waved his towel a couple of times but that was it. If it was not for the father yelling out, "throw a strike Zack!" every once in a while, I would have thought they were mute. Who comes to a playoff game and sits on their hands??

Lets blow the roof off of the place today!! Do not let up. All game, every pitch. Don't hold anything back today! Get loud!

I understand that this is game 5. I understand the need for fan support. I was at game 1 and 2. I did plenty of standing and yelling and towel waving at those games. At appropriate times. Please don't be one of those guys who thinks, because of the weight of the game, it's for some reason necessary to stand the entire game. In the 2nd inning when there is one out and no one on don't stand and yell at people and question their "fandom" because they are not standing and cheering throughout the entire game like they are in the student section at a Friday Night HS football game. I'm a short guy, my son is even shorter. We love to stand and cheer and go crazy during key moments in games, but it's also much easier for us to see what is going on when everyone is sitting. We purchased seats for a reason.

Bombers, I'm not saying this is you, but many times I find people who think it's necessary to stand throughout an entire baseball game (regardless if it's an elimination game) and get upset with those around them who do not feel the same way to be bandwagon fans who know very little about the game of baseball. Don't get me wrong, bandwagon fans are needed. The money they spend on games, food, parking, apparel is all helpful to keep this team competitive. However, the true fans are not the ones that yell and scream the loudest. The true fans are the ones that continue to spend money and invest time on the team when they lose 90-100 games and finish 20-30 games out of 1st.

Not everyone is wired the same way. Don't get upset at the people who do not stand and show their "fandom" in the same manner as you do and please don't be that annoying guy that will not sit down when everyone is yelling at him/her to do so.

Not sure if it's going to be open at game time, but it's open right now. I can see it from my office.

edit: Just called the roof hotline. Still not updated from last Sunday.

I'm going down without a parking pass, will be getting there about 1pm - normally I wouldn't be worried, but I'm starting to wonder if I should stop off an pickup a parking pass at ticket king or something.

Thoughts?

If you get there by 1, you'll be fine. I wouldn't push it if you're rolling in at 2ish or later, though.

So is the roof going to be open today or what? It's a high of 80 and the game is during the day.
Just called it and they said it's expected to be closed. Can't understand why but it will certainly make it louder in there.

I am so pumped for today! The energy and the volume is going to be 10X more than Game 1 and 2. I can't wait to feel it and be part of it. You can bet I will be standing and cheering (while being respectful to those around me). Go Brewers! This is your time and this is our time!

Roof will be closed because MLB wants the atmosphere/environment to be as close as it was to the previous 4 games. I can understand closing it when it's 55 and sunny but 80 and sunny? Really?

I agree, I don't think it's realistic for the entire stadium to stand and chear for the entire game. Definition of "key moments" should be expanded far beyond what typically qualifies (Brewers HR, last batter of the game, etc.) But that's the key, when it's time to get loud...get REAL loud. Should give away thunder sticks instead of towels.

Biggest offenders always seem to be fans closest to the action. You season ticket holders down around the IF need to pick up the pace!

I agree that the thunder sticks provide more noise and are pretty cool visually, but they are somewhat of a pain to keep track of. You are not going to hold on to them the entire game and where do you put them when you are not holding them. I just hope they don't go to pom poms like AZ did. I realize that AZ did not want to look like they were copying the Brewers, but they should have at least made the pom poms a lighter color. Could not really see them that wiell on TV from full crowd camera shot (like you can the white rally towels).

I, for one, do not want to see thunder sticks return. They were cool for about 2 minutes last time.
I agree completely. Don't bring them back. Towels and the loudness of the Brewers fans are adequate for the task.

The most amazing thing about the game tonight to me was how few Arizona fans I saw, I think I saw 2 the entire night and I was watching for them. The crowd had a lot of energy though it seemed to go out of them when we lost the lead in the 9th until we threatened in the bottom of the 10th.

Ok, just got back a little while ago. Despite my post earlier in this thread, I found myself standing from pretty much the 8th inning on. Not because of people standing in front of me, but because I just could not sit!! I have a feeling my throat is going to be quite sore tomorrow!
