2011-10-05 Brewers (Wolf) at Diamondbacks (Saunders) - [Brewers lose, 10-6; NLDS Tied 2-2]

The problem is Wolf's "wasted" pitches are missing by a ton, pretty much ensuring no one will swing at them. Therefore he's always falling behind, because no one would chase something that's so obviously a ball. Then he has to come in with a strike and pretty much splits the plate. What a disappointment. A couple batters too long.

I kind of overlooked this because the pitcher was on deck.....but on parra's groundball to prince, could they have turned two? They didn't really show it again so it's hard to remember. But at the time it seemed like the thinking was "ok, pitcher on deck, get the sure out". Not so much anymore.
I don't think they could've turned it. It was hit too slowly.

Its only the 4th inning...The game is far from over, but the fact that RR left Wolf in shows how terrible of a manager he actually is. He doesn't have the guts to get guys in the middle of innings. He is a players manager. The reason the Brewers are where they are has nothing to do with him.
My thoughts exactly, get pushed around by the players and not have the balls to step in when needed. I can only think what was going through Braun's head, please get us someone who can pitch tonight.

Nice to see people jump on Yuni for a ball that Hairston should have gotten to if anyone could have.
This is right. There is now way any shortstop makes that play from where Yuni was positioned. Hairston had the best shot, but that's still asking a lot.

There is not a shortstop in the history of the game that would have turned that single into an out from where Betancourt was positioned. Lets lie blame where it's due, squarely at the feet of Wolf for leaving a steaming pile in the living rooms of every Brewer fan watching this game. If these guys do manage to pull this series out, Wolf had better not start another game. Yes, the ump is squeezing the zone, but I haven't seen this many 2-0 counts in my life. How many off speed pitches as Wolf thrown for a strike- like 3?

Well, someone was warmed up. He put the guys on base, but got squeezed against young and then gave up two ground balls.

Men at 2nd and 3rd with the way he was pitching was trouble. He has looked awful since first pitch and that RRR was leaving him in there when we were only down by 2 is incredulous.

He was waiting for him to "find it" He definitely didn't take him out when he got in trouble again.
