What really bad movies do you secretly like?

Boy Jeenius

I dont think Airplane can be considered a "bad" movie.

To me -- the answer to this question is a definitive one.

The pure genius that is:

Gymkata.

For you younger cats, you need to see this movie, although its awesomeness may have kept it off of DVDs.

I cracked up just reading that.

For me, it's The Cutting Edge.

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

I don't even think you can have a thread like this without asking what ol' Jack Burton says at a time like this...

Big Trouble in Little China

I don't know that it was 'bad' when it came out (I probably first saw parts of it when I was about 10), but it has aged into a fine cheese.

I've always been meaning to see the Directors Cut of Daredevil, because I've heard it's better than the theatrical...but I managed to enjoy that film more than most people I know.

I'm with Mass, Flash and Queen rock!

I also wouldn't consider Airplane a bad movie. It is a classic.

I would add the early 80's Condorman and Legend of the Lone Ranger. Also Superman 3 with Richard Prior.

American Ninja 4: The Annihilation. I watch this every time it's on. It's bad. The first American Ninja was pretty entertaining even if it was pretty bad itself. After that each sequel got progressively worse. And no actual annihilating takes place in AN4.

During my brother's junior year of high school his English teacher asked him to use the word annihilation in a sentence. My brother wrote on the board, "Last night I watched American Ninja 4: The Annihilation." His teacher got a good laugh out of it.

Baseketball

Black Sheep

Almost Heroes (and no, Tommy Boy isn't a bad movie)

The Quest (with Jean-Claude Van Damme)

Event Horizon

I'm kind of a film snob/elitist but I do like many bad movies. I just don't like bad movies that sell a lot of tickets/DVDs just because they have "name" actors, simple plot, sufficient action and aggressive marketing.

I gotta agree with pogo on Tango & Cash. Every single line in the movie is sarcastic. It may be the most jackass film ever released.

Plus, Jack Palance......awesome.

"Oh, God. Ray Tango. How he loves to dance. He waltzes in and takes all my drugs, then tangos back out again."

"Rats in a maze, men in a cage".

I also enjoy Dirty Work. Didn't notice if that got mentioned in a previous post. Norm MacDonald rules.

This thread should be renamed, which 80s movies do you love...

Princess Bride is one of the best movies I can think of! No place on a 'bad' list.

Iron Eagle takes the cake for me though -- totally absurd.

Here's my crack at this. I included some movies already listed and tried to only add ones that had a rating under 6.0 on IMDB:

The 'burbs (6.2)

Hot Shots! (6.2)

Baseketball (6.1)

For Love of the Game (6.1)

See No Evil, Hear No Evil (6.0) <-- love it!

Dirty Work (5.9)

Orgazmo (5.8)

Very Bad Things (5.8)

Kindergarten Cop (5.7)

Mystery Men (5.7)

Johnny Dangerously (5.7)

Weekend at Bernie's (5.6)

-------------------------------------

Kung Pow: Enter the Fist (5.3)

Joe Versus the Volcano (5.2)

The Ewok Adventure (5.1)

Ewoks: The Battle for Endor (5.1)

The Scout (5.0)

The Gate (4.9) <-- this movie rocks! what the heck?!

Cabin Boy (4.3)

McHale's Navy (3.7) <-- this may just be on here because I remember jsjosh screaming "BRUUUCE!" in the opening credits at the theater, lol. But it is true, BRUUUCE!

There seems to be a break at the 5.5 rating mark that I can accept other people not liking the movie, otherwise these are great movies! (outside maybe the Ewoks, but I still prefer those to the real Star Wars movies...lol)

10-15 years ago I would have included Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness, but their cult followings have increased so much I don't think I can include them in this thread! Go Bruce!
