Playoff parking

AZBrewCrew

With an obvious sellout expected this weekend and parking passes hard to come by, does anyone know if the Brewers plan to utilize State Fair Park for the games like they have done in the past for Opening Day?

I haven't seen this discussed elsewhere. This forum looks like a good place for the question. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

So I am driving from Green Bay Saturday morning to go to the game. From my understanding you can only purchase parking passes from the ticket office at Miller Park. My question is how am I going to get a parking pass without getting in line to park? Just get there super early? Are there even going to be any left on gameday? Where do people park if you can't get a pass?

+1

So basically, the only way to get a parking pass if you don't have one already is to go to Miller Park, which you can only access with a parking pass? Seems absurd. (And no, as someone in Madison, I'm not going to get them in advance)

I would go to one of the many bars on Bluemound and take a shuttle into the game.

Find a bar that looks good to you. Park around there. Grab a drink or some food, then hop on the shuttle.

I've been going to Rounding Third on 63rd this year, but you really can't go wrong with any of them. Kelly's, Long Wongs, Steve's, Mo's, etc... They all have shuttles.

Of course if you are attending the game with younger kids (not sure if you are) this is probably not the best of options since several of the patrons on the bus (especially on the way back) will be younger men who have probably over-imbibed and who's favorite adjective is the "f-bomb" .

Depends upon which bar you go to, of course, but I haven't seen much of that this year the times I've taken the shuttles. But if you are concerned about the 20-somethings, I would then go with Long Wong's. I think it's a little more reserve crowd.

Maybe less of an issue, if you go to one that is more of a restaurant? We have only done this twice, once was Fiesta Garibaldi (you had to pay $20 when you park and they gave you a voucher for the restaurant for $20), the other was Hector's on State (but I don't see any mention of a shuttle on their website, so they may have dropped this...they were running one for Fri, Sat, Sun games earlier this year).

My buddy calledthe Brewers yesterday and they said day of game parking is $5 more than advance and that once the lot is full it's full. If you're in line when the lot opens you're not going to be turned away because you didn't buy advance parking. You will be turned away though if you show up at game time with your advance pass and the lot is full. Advance purchase doesn't guarantee you a spot.

What!?! If that's true that's completely ridiculous.

I'd trust gypcasino's buddy over the news report. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif The media isn't necessarily dependable when it comes to being accurate.

It's not so much that gypcasino's buddy can't be trusted, it's possibly the Brewer employee that he talked to. My thought is if that if you called back and spoke to a different employee, they would give you a different answer. It just doesn't seem reasonable that this is Brewer's policy on parking. It's really not that hard to know how many parking spots you have, how many you sold, and how many are left...and then turn away anyone who attempts to enter the parking lot after all spots are sold (whether the lot's actually full or not).

Reminds me of Seinfeld..."anyone can take a reservation...it's the holding part that is key"

It seems like a joke that they didn't offer parking passes online, I don't have one and plan on being in line atleast three hours before the game to get into the lot. Out of towners aren't going to go to miller park to purchase a parking pass. It really seems like with opening day and prior playoff experience they would have figured this out already...

I've been going to Derry's Pub with my daughter for quite a while. Definitely more of a reserved crowd. I think you'll hear more colorful language at the park than on the shuttle ride back.
