Playing for one run in the 1st again. I don't get it. But Roenicke is definitely predictable.

edit: See, good things can happen when you let good hitters swing away.
This is Jack Burton in the Pork Chop Express, and I'm talkin' to whoever's listenin' out there.

I think its been pretty well established Morgan bunts those on his own, not ordered from the bench

Established from what? Players besides Morgan have bunted Hart over as soon as he gets on. It's basically Roenicke's MO to bunt guys over ASAP.

Even if the manager is not ordering the bunt, he is also not telling Morgan not to bunt. I have a hard time believing the manager is just letting his players play. He seems to constantly want to be fiddling with things.(hit and run, sac bunting, etc.)

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

"That's him bunting the runner over. He's bunting to get the guy over,

but he's also bunting for a hit also. And that's the thing I made clear

with him is that he needs to be bunting for a hit there." - RRR on Morgan

2 spot hitter this season:

Rk
G GS PA AB SH
1 Corey Hart 19 19 82 69 1
2 Nyjer Morgan 80 76 347 311 12
3 Carlos Gomez 43 38 170 153 7
4 Mark Kotsay 10 8 36 32 0
5 Craig Counsell 7 4 20 16 2
6 Jerry Hairston 12 12 54 47 0
7 Felipe Lopez 1 1 5 4 1
8 Josh Wilson 2 1 5 4 0

Hart has 1 bunt from that spot all year, Gomez and Counsell should be bunting every chance they get, esp without the platoon split considering how bad on offense they are. Lopez is no world beater either, not too bad to have him bunt.

And Morgan has the rest of the 2 spot SHs

Marcum not looking very sharp at all so far
He shouldn't be aligned to pitch at home in the playoffs, and Greinke on the road. I don't know how much more of a sample some need to see. Fortunes will certainly change in the future for both pitchers, but that doesn't mean there isn't something to it now. Both pitchers know where they've recently succeeded and failed.

As for conceding runs after you squander surefire scoring opportunities of your own, how much more often do you see that happen? Good job by the Brewers to make the Pirates feel good about themselves. They needed a reason to at Miller Park.
