2011-09-26 Pirates (Morton) at Brewers (Marcum) - [Brewers lose, 9-8, still 1 up on D-Backs]

really late to the party . . . may have been discussed earlier. . . . .

 

how is the game nearly 3 1/2 hours long and it's only the top of the 7th? did something happen to delay the game? I know it's 9-8 but it almost seems excessively slow.

Well, Marcum throwing 90 pitches in 5 innings didn't help. Plus, he takes about 30 seconds in between pitches, or so it seems. The Pirates made 3 or 4 pitching changes in one inning.

Marco Estrada has given up a run in most of his relief appearances this year. Why is he in there?
That's not true. After RR used De La Cruz for IP+ today, I'm not too surprised. I can't remember him using K-Rod or Ax in a game where the team is losing this year.
