So Hairston is or isn't hurt?

Jerry Hairston Jr. received an epidural Thursday in

hopes that it will get rid of the neck and shoulder stiffness that has

bothered him for a couple of weeks.

 

Hairston

has a bulging disk in his neck, though it's not clear if he might face

offseason surgery. Clearly nagged by the issue, he's gone hitless in his

last 18 at-bats. "Something needed to be done," said Hairston. "The

last two weeks have been very difficult. It's hard enough to play this

game when you're feeling good. I woke up (Friday) morning feeling

better."

It sounds like he's in a lot of pain. I'm not sure why they would let him come in as a late game replacement at this point, it's not like they needed him to play.

 

I think RR needs to rest his key players when he can.
