Randy Wolf

12-9, 3.44

The curveball is key to Wolf's success, and he never felt comfortable with it in his last start against the Phillies, despite allowing only two runs in seven innings. He's 10-4 with a 3.40 ERA in 22 starts against the Reds.

Bronson Arroyo

I posted this in the Roenicke thread but thought I'd post it here as well:

And again using that career .286 average against a pitcher to justify it, despite a diminishing skill set. Kotsay is 0-6 against Arroyo this year. But he did go 1-1 against him in 2008 and 3-6 in 2004!

Seriously, when Roenicke uses crap stats like this, someone needs to have these stats ready to go. He may be 6-21 in his career against him but the last hit he got was 3 years ago and half the hits came 7 years ago.

Did Roenicke actually use that though? I see Haudicourt said it, but it's not attributed to Roenicke.

If Roenicke did use that as a reason, I have a far more annoyingly simple one; Kotsay has 1 more hit off Arroyo than Hart, in 2 more ABs.

I don't know if he actually said that this time or not. But he has said stuff like this in the past so I assume that's his thinking here, whether he says it or not.

I understand guys need days off every once in awhile but we just came off 2 off days in 4 days. And some guys need starts to stay sharp but Kotsay is a vet and probably doesn't need to play much to stay sharp.

Schafer in RF would have been nice to see. Not sure why Hart needs a day off and Hart is head and shoulders better than Kotsay to the point where Hart probably hits righties almost as well as Kotsay.

Career vs right

Kotsay .338/.408/.746 .326wOBA

Hart .320/.475/.795 .342wOBA

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

Obviously I'd rather see Hart playing. Green getting another shot is nice and Kotsay is left handed.. I guess. Could be worse. We really should beat Arroyo with or without Hart in the lineup. I think the Brewer bats wake up this game and they win in a slugfest 8-6.

Arroyo has been terrible this year, though he does have a 2-0 record with just a few earned runs against us. Naturally. We've pounded him in the past and also got completely shut down by him.

Dear Brewers and Phillies - Please make all of our lives a whole lot more fun by just winning the series. Thanks.

Kotsay 2nd? Really?!?

Thanks RR. My fantasy baseball team didn't need Hart in the lineup. Maybe I should run to the waivers and grab Mark Kotsay because he is obviously a better player. /blue

Welp, Brewers, if you didn't think it was big-boy time before, it is now. 1-0 for Friday. I'll be at the UW Field House but thanks to campus wi-fi will be keeping an eye on you. Yay technology!

Also, Phillies, if you're so awesome and stuff, pour it on this weekend. Thanks.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.
