Can't blame this one on Yuni. Eh, I'm sure somebody will anyways.

No but just because he had a good game, doesn't mean he's not a terrible player. Over the course of a season, he will be one of, if not the worst player on whatever team he's on.

Just curious: do you boo him when you're at games like Cubs fans boo Soriano? Cubs fans legitimately get furious when he gets a hit, and then they get furious when he gets an out. Other than select Cubs fans I've never heard someone hate a player that plays for their own team so much. I'm wondering what you thought of Bill Hall... I couldn't stand him, but you must have lost your mind!
I rarely boo the Brewers (though I have let out a few "you suck"s the last few games). But I think Yuni is terrible. Unfortunately, there's probably not a better everyday option (I would probably split time between Hairston/Yuni 60-40).

As for Bill Hall, I never liked him. I always thought he was overrated and I said his big year was a fluke, which it was. I never understood the love for him, even if he did hit 35 HRs or whatever.

Why does it seem like you are constantly trying to get people to berate Yuni? Leave him alone for 1 game.
Yuni simply existing gets people to berate Yuni, regardless of how he does in the particular game. There's usually around 5-10 posts complaining about him before the game even starts, so I don't think it's all that unreasonable mentioning he played well when other people can't lay off him in a game where he actually does well.

But you can say "Hey, Yuni had a good game tonight." without saying "My gosh, I can't believe anyone would find a way to complain about Yuni after tonight."

Geez, enough already. You're defending him, we get it. There will be posts everyday wanting him out of the lineup because chances are, he will go 0-4, not 2-4, and he will hurt the team with his defense. And I don't recall anyone saying anything negative about him tonight (at least in terms of his performance tonight). But you're almost trolling by saying someone will find a way to blame Yuni. We're all (mostly) educated baseball fans here. We know Yuni played pretty well tonight but that doesn't take away the fact that most games, he will be a negative out there.

two awful offensive games in a row (well, there's been many, but these were off of bad pitchers), take an off day, refocus, and if there was ever a time to get the offense going it's off of bronson arroyo (40 HR this year!!!) in that bandbox of a stadium

I was seriously thinking of leaving the game during the 7th. It was clear the Brewers turned on the Cruise Control mode and have now found they can't get it to click off.

I guess I don't really care what K-Rod or Prince says to the media. I'm sure they both want to win the World Series as much as anybody and playing well down the stretch and in the playoffs bodes well for them in the pocketbook. I don't think commentary to the media will affect how the team plays.

I couldn't disagree more. I don't know how long you've followed organized sports, or if you've ever been a part of a team, but you want your leaders to act like real leaders. Prince's comments are pretty ill timed, and gives a small indication of where his head is. See my post about Sabathia above.

And don't kid yourself, they are getting paid regardless of what they do down the stretch. It's a little naive to think otherwise. Prince could go 0-rest of season, and he's still getting 100+mil. Believe that.

I've been following organized (professional) sports my whole life. My point is that baseball is much more individualized than, say, football or basketball. "Chemistry" shouldn't be a focus, but for some reason, the members of the 'ol boys club put so much stock into it. I honestly think that Prince is just kinda dumb and he said something he shouldn't have said. These comments will have been old news by Friday night. Chemistry/leadership was a problem on the 2004 Lakers, but I don't think has ever affected the performance of a baseball team.
