If we can't hit pitches literally STRAIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE then we aren't going to be able to score runs against teams with pitchers that are pitching well.

And I'm not sure how Corey Hart struck out on a pitch that much down the pipe. I paused it and it literally was direct center, 6 inches above the knee with no movement. I felt sick.

Edit: well, I guess you can't blame Yuni for this game

Man. This lack of any offense at all is awfully painful to see. How long has it been since the Brewers put up more than 6 runs? Last time they crushed someone? Won a game by 3? This is pretty sad indeed and if this does not improve, it's going to be a very short post season if they manage to hang in there till then.

I've been on the road for the most part of 3 weeks now. I really look forward to the Brewer's games, but I don't think they've scored more than 2 runs in any game I've watched lately. Half the games I turned off after the 4th inning. It's really hard to believe this team is going to the playoffs. They are really that bad right now.

We are pressing (dare I say choking?) at the plate, that is for sure. Of course we never make any changes to our line-up in order to juice it up. If RR were managing the 2002 Angels, K-Rod would have never would have got into a meaningful game and the Angels never would have won the world series.

Honestly, I expected this in this series. Things that should come easy never do for teams struggling. We need to face a pitcher with nothing and blast him. Then we will relax. I don't know if that would happen. I may be mistaken, but I think that the last time we roughed up a starter it was Edwin Jackson on August 3rd. We have done some damage against weak bullpens during that time, but our offense has been sleeping for a while.

I just don't understand how an offense can be so inconsistent. Everybody is trying to do too much. At times like this, I wonder what Sveum and the players are saying to each other. Just go out there, wait for a pitch you like, and swing nice and easy. Stop swinging at crap off the plate and breaking balls in the dirt.
This is Jack Burton in the Pork Chop Express, and I'm talkin' to whoever's listenin' out there.

This might be the worst I've seen this offense. This guy pitching is terrible, he's missing his spots and hanging breaking-balls left and right. The pitch to green was literally right down the middle. It's embarrassing. Two hits through 5 against this guy? Unacceptable.

I have a feeling that getting out on the road is exactly what this team needs right now. Sometimes if you're pressing, you probably feel even more pressure at home in front of the fans who support you all the time. Hopefully the Reds want to help us bury the Cardinals... lol... and we have a nice series there.
