I don't know why I even bother looking at the lineup these days. It's virtually impossible for Casey or Yuni to play themselves out of the lineup, despite better options.

Hardly anyone has seen Millwood at all, not sure if that's good or bad. Save for Yuni, who is hitting under .200 against him in 50 at bats.

The definition of insanity is continuing to do the same thing over and over, and then expecting different results.

I wouldn't mind a day off for Luc as well as Yuni and Casey. All of these guys have been struggling at the plate. You could load up the offense with some extra lefties - Green, Kotaras. Get JHJ some playing time at SS. Heck, even give Counsel the start.

guess not.

sigh.

I can somewhat grasp that Roenicke might be more comfortable with the two players (McGehee, Betancourt) who have spent the most time with the club this year over the new acquisitions (Green, Hairston). But must they always bat in sequence?

The black hole in the lineup is not just having two particular batters who are terrible: it's that those two particular players are batting #6 and #7 in the lineup, the two highest spots in the order possible for them. Why can't they hit #6 and #8? Or if they must hit back-to-back, why not bat them #7 and #8?

in 53 PA against Millwood, YuniB:

53 .163 .208 .163 .371

RRR loves his small sample sizes, if Hairston can't get a start tonight, he may never get one.

Lets hope Shaun is on his game tonight.
Since he's only had about 4-5 really bad starts on the year, I think he'll be fine. Tonight should be no different. Just go out there and take care of business.

I havent seen alot of Green but is Mcgahee really a better defensive player then Green? That just can't be right can it...

I would say McGehee is closer to below average/bad and Green is closer to average/slightly below average.
