Why even send him? Weeks not running full speed, only 1 out. He was probably safe, and Weeks could have slide to the back side of the plate and been safe by a mile, but I think it was a risk not taking.

Meanwhile, the Pirates are showing about 10 different ways to not score runs. Twice they have hit into DP's with a man on third and one out....on fly balls. TWICE. Neither time with a guy thrown out at the plate. Unbelievable.

There was only one out...but Betancourt was due up next. Do we really think Yuni could have gotten that run in?
Would have been one out anyways. That same ground ball gets a run. Runners at 2nd and 3rd isn't a double play risk either. If he doesn't score, you're looking at Lucroy with runners at 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs.

Edit: terrible throw by Casey, terrible pick by Fielder. Week's throw was really, really bad.

Nice statement there BA. Greinke probably up to bunt, but you never know with RR(sure you do), but he usually has his pitcher bunting in these situations.
Remember what Yoda said:

"Cubs lead to Cardinals. Cardinals lead to dislike. Dislike leads to hate. Hate leads to constipation."

Greinke statistically has a much better chance of laying a bunt down and advancing the runner to second than he does at getting a hit (and not grounding into a double play). It's easy to say he should have swung away on hindsight, but if he would have grounded into a double play, there would be a lot of angry, angry people.

It wasn't hindsight. People on here have been discussing Roenicke's love of the bunt all year. And even if the bunt was laid down, it would still be an out given up.
This is Jack Burton in the Pork Chop Express, and I'm talkin' to whoever's listenin' out there.
