hopefully the pirates can do us us favor when they play the cards and do what we have failed to do in these 6 games.
The Brewers did win Monday night. Though it would be nice if the Pirates could manage a better 6-game record than 1-5 or 2-4.

Davego, I wish I knew what to tell you about the chat. It's been hit and miss for me much of the summer. I sometimes have success clearing my browser history before entering.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Sorry but to many hitters go in prolonged slumps for me and hopefully Weeks is a start.

I think every player in the MLB goes into prolonged hot-streaks and slumps. Not many people start the first month batting .285, then the All Star Break are .285, come trade deadline are .285, then with a week to go are still .285.

Okay guys, we got them right where we want them. Being behind the Cardinals late is essentially a guaranteed win http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Carpenter's ERA this season is actually better than his career average and his WHIP is just about the same as his career average. Shame on the Brewers for getting shut out by a CY winner on a night where guys are just catching the ball for the Cards.

I guess they'll just have to find a way to win 11 games against a fairly weak schedule the rest of the way and not sweat the Cards winning every game on their slate the rest of the year.

We shouldn't be disappointed if we lose tonight, all the Brewers had to do is win 1 game in St Louis which they did.

Why can't we be disappointed? Why did they only have to win 1? Winning one gets them closer to clinching but it didn't clinch for sure. St. Louis could still come back, however unlikely that might be. We can always be disappointed when we have defensive miscues and lose in a pitcher's duel.

If they win tonight the Cards will have taken 3 series from the Brewers this year, all of them essentially meaningless in terms of improving their chances of winning the division (2-3 % total). The Brewers have already taken 3 series from the Cardinals, all of them huge in improving their chances of winning the division (30+ % total). The Cards did a nice job of winning when it didn't count.

Nice throw CC. First call that goes the Brewers' way all night and TLR runs out there to moan.

Now I can see why the Pirates and Nationals got rid of Morgan. Yeah he can be fun and exciting but that was completely unnecessary and stupid.

edit: Morgan didn't need to be chirping at Carpenter but there was no reason for Pujols to come running across the diamond.
