Is anyone else worried that the dbacks are going to catch us?

You seem to ask these questions every IGT when the Brewers are losing. "Is anyone worried that ____?" No. I think you even asked a few days when they were losing to the Astros if anyone was worried the Cardinals might catch us.

I really like Yo, but if our first three starters in the post season are Grienke, Marcum and Wolf, I would not argue too much. I have no statistical evidence to base this on besides my gut feeling, but Yo seems to sometimes have a little bit of difficulty with the mental part of the game.

I think Schroeder just summed up this game for Yo. He's not pitching that bad, he has good stuff tonight. A couple of guys just hit good pitches.

I'm listening on the radio, so I can't really tell how Yo's stuff looks, but he's already near 80 pitches after 4 inn, and he's walked a few. He seems like he's nibbling or leaving them out to be crushed. The question is do we see Dillard, Estrada, or Loe in the middle innings?

Agree, Yo is one of my favorite Brewers, but he always seems to disappoint when he starts in a big spot. I never thought I would say that I have more confidence in Wolf than I have in Yovani. Yo now has given up a career high 24 HR and his K/9 is at a career low. I would like to see Yo progress, but he seems to be headed in the wrong direction. I do like that his walks are down this year.

Rant over, lets get the bats going boys!

Our pitchers better bring their good stuff against Philly because we aren't going to score much in that series I'm afraid.

We scored 6, 9, and 3 in the last series against Kendrick, Halladay, and Lee. Obviously you can't expect that but I'm not ready to throw in the towel offensively against them.

The Cards 2 homers have for the most part been less impressive than 3 of the fly ball outs the Brewers have made. And while Yo doesn't seem to have good control, he's getting a number of pitches called balls that are being called as strikes for Lohse. Just the way it is so far.

I very much appreciate what Wolf has done so far this season, but there is no way he should start ahead of Yo in the postseason. The Cards just seem to have Yo's number.

Yuni now getting blamed for other batters not producing hits.
And if I ripped on McGehee you'd have also rushed to his defense.
No, I'm ripping completely ridiculous posts that come out of emotion rather than common sense. McGehee walked his first AB. I don't think his approach is to hit early in the count because of who is hitting behind him. I think McGehee would be used to Yuni hitting behind him by now and would be a walk machine if that was actually that approach.

In here it just seems like a travesty whenever a player like Yuni doesn't go 4-4. Every single at-bat gets 5-6 of the same post explaining that he's a terrible hitter. We know. Yet when he actually does do something good it's 5-6 of the same posts explaining he's still a terrible hitter or fielder. I've never seen anyone acknowledge he's made a good play defensively. He's had a handful tonight and has shown some range. When a Cubs announcer said he had decent range there were 5-6 people who laughed at the notion. Yet just last week Uecker was talking about Furcal's range and said Yuni also had decent range at SS. When he gets a good hit it's somehow still a bad thing. How depressing must it be to watch this team. 1/3 of your position players will make you angry regardless of the outcome. I can't even imagine some of you people watching the team when Bill Hall was playing.

I generally like reading the in-game threads here, but literally the majority of the posts involve complaining about two players. It gets really old.

People really want Wolf pitching before Yo in the playoffs? Yo is a better pitcher than Wolf. Don't let this game change your feelings. He's had some well pitched games lately and even had an 8 inning shut out game against the Cardinals earlier in the year.

So do posts like this. Also, Yuni does have awful range, how could you think otherwise? Because Uecker says so? Obviously he's not going to come out and bash a member of the team. And yes, people have actually given Yuni credit when he does something good. He's gotten credit on a few HRs, the double play ball, the ricochet play, and a number of others. Maybe you just haven't seen them. But when a player is overall as bad as he is, and we are supposedly "all-in", people are going to be upset when he does something bad.

Hipster effect. There is always somebody better in the minors/DM didn't do enough to get. Just be glad we avoided 10 pages of spreadsheets proving a point.

Counsell 0-3, again showing that career numbers against a certain pitcher shouldn't really matter when your skills have diminished as much as his.

I've been reading this site daily at least since the "Spivey Injury Excuse" days. I've never felt compelled to post before and may never again, but I just wanted to say I agree 100% with this post. We get it. Betancourt has some serious limitations in his game and probably wouldn't be difficult to replace. But he's a Brewer and a seemingly good guy. Be happy when the man succeeds.
