Chris Narveson

9-6, 4.28

Narveson will have gone 11 days between starts, giving his left hand time to heal. He was on the DL with a cut on his thumb, then left a start against the Pirates when the nail on his middle finger began to pull up.

So Kotsay and his .622 OPS against RHP is starting over Corey Harts .842

I am assuming Yuni isn't starting because he is hurt, but CC has a .456 OPS against righties this year so lets hope its for this reason.

Corey Hart has been our best hitter not named Braun or Fielder and the fact that he is sitting because he is a righty and Kotsay is a lefty is just mind boggling.

RRR has gotten much better but decisions like this make me question him.

Good luck Green! Any word on Yuni?

Per McCalvy;

Brewers shortstop Yuniesky Betancourt said he was OK late Friday after being struck in the underside of his right elbow and exiting a win over the Astros in the eighth inning. The Brewers said Betancourt was day-to-day, and he did not require x-rays.

Also per McCalvy;

Why all the lefty hitters for #Brewers? Norris, with his nasty slider, holding RHH's to .203 avg./.282 obp/.338 slg. Lefties .288/.358/.468.

I was 5 years old when the Brewers went to the World Series. I have vivid memories of watching Game 7 while at my grandmother's house. Since then, I've watched and cheered through all the losing seasons. When the Crew made the playoffs a few years back, most fans were simply happy just to get in the postseason.

This is a special team. It may be another 29 years before we see a team like this again. I'm not going to let frustrations about the daily lineup get me down. I'm not going to let in-game strategy get me down. I'm going to watch and I'm going to cheer with all my heart. Go Brewers!

I agree. I'll admit I've been critical of the lineups most of the year. But now, we have an 8.5 game lead and are playing the Astros. C'mon guys. The reserves need some playing time anyway, and some guys could use days off. I'm not gonna complain today.

I get the rationale and for hitters who are around the same stratosphere I get it. Hart is a much much better hitter righty lefty or otherwise. Putting kotsay in just because he's a lefty is silly.

Yes this is a special team but we haven't clinched anything yet and were just swept by the cards. I'd just like to see decisions that make sense as opposed to ones that make me scratch my head.
