so betancourt bats for himself ... we pinch hit kotsay for Hairston and then use Counsell as a pinch runner. There were 900 ways to tie that game in the 9th and RR worked his way out of it. We have a AAA +.340 bat on the bench and yet we pinch hit Kostay for the best option after Prince ... the Yuni fiasco .... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

STOP.............

BUNTING..........

I know there's little to whine about when we're 9 1/2 games up, but I've never seen a Brewers team so eager to give up free outs.

My biggest fear is we'll see this idiocy in the playoffs when games will matter again.

The team did nothing at the plate and when they did, the two best hitters on the team failed to capitalize.. The players booted the game away on defense. RR may have failed in this game, but not nearly as much as the players did.

It amazes me that major league baseball players can't drop down a bunt. Maybe Yuni is hurt at least.

It was not a good bunt, but with the infield playing where it was it would have been damn near impossible to drop down a sac bunt.

If you get the bunt down the 3rd baseline so the 3B has to field it will work since there is no one to cover 3rd. Yuni bunted it right back to the pitcher off his hand on a pitch at his head.

The players don't say to themselves "Hey wouldn't it be great if I booted this ball!". Roenicke did say to himself "Hey Betancourt who hasn't put down a bunt all year is a great choice!"

Roenicke is such a terrible manager, I can't believe this

a bunt there was seriously the dumbest thing ever

With how atrocious Yuni has been during this run and overall this season, it made more sense than swinging away. But if that's the case, you pinch hit for the guy. Either bring up Green or Counsell. But Roenicke has no common sense. Like I said, his foolishness was one of the biggest culprits tonight. He was not playing the percentages in most situations where it was even a question. He's a pretty terrible decision maker in spite of managing a team who is 9.5 up in a division.

Cheering for any injury is classless; cheering for an injury to one of our own players is flat out disgusting.
Are you serious??? No one wanted him to die, just be out for the season. Clearly this would make the team better, cheering for your favorite team to get better is fine. He is getting paid $6 MM this year, he will still earn it with a cast on his hand.

This isn't little league

Terrible hitting in RISP situations + poor fielding + manager's interesting strategic moves = Loss.

Everything in this game typifies what is wrong with the team. Thankfully, we have not seen this aspect of the Brewers as much as we have seen the good. Put this game in the column with the 60 losses that every team will have on a year, but I'd like not to see this combination of factors again.

Exactly. Barring a fatal hand injury, I'd be pretty happy about the whole thing.
