Now I hate it even more. 4-run lead. Let Wolf try and finish it.

The only possible reason I can see for doing it, is getting him out of there while he's still healthy to play it safe. (Considering they just lost Narvy and all.)

We also have no idea the conversation in the dugout. Wolf looked like he was cruising but maybe he ok'd the move to the pen?? Unless someone says otherwise Roenicke pulls some strings and it netted some runs.

Fair enough. I hesitate to make a change when the starter really has the offense off balance (it's one thing if he's been laboring), but it did work out so no harm done. I wouldn't have played it that way, but I'm not in uniform.

K-Rod with two quick ones. Finish it!

K-rod can't close out games we need to get axford up just b/c a couple of runs get on with two outs?

BP is gonna run out of gas mid-september. Remember this game and others.

Well at least we won.

Axford throws every day. He's a pitcher. I understand the apprehension, but it's not like 25 warmup pitches is going to really tire him out.

Never in my 16 years of watching the Brewers have I seen them go through such a stretch of dominating baseball. I have seen plenty of hot streaks, but usually there is more luck involved than this.

Who would have thought they would go 13-1 without Rickie Weeks?

Stay away Rickie. I think I should put it in blue, but don't want to.

I think you are being a little over dramatic here. The bullpen has been in great shape for a long time now. Both Ax and Krod can go 3 days in a row and 70% effort bullpen tosses don't affect Axford's availability at all

Nice.

If you follow the baseball prospectus playoff odds (http://www.baseballprospectus.com/odds/), it's fun to see what they do day-to-day....I don't take them too seriously but they are interesting to watch. After game 1 of this series the Brewers' odds were bumped from 75% to almost 82%, and St Louis had theirs drop almost 10%. Very interested to see tomorrow's report...that's one less chance for St Louis to make up ground.

A friend of mine is a distant relative of Jake Westbrook, so I have maybe .01% sympathy for Jake. But that's all. Keep going, Brewers.

Your friends with Brian Westbrook?!?!

You don't have an Adam Wainwright. Easily the best gentlemen in all of sports. You don't have the amount of real good old American men like the Cardinals do. Holliday, Wainwright, Skip, Berkman those 4 guys are incredible people

I don't know. There have been quite a few games this season where RR gets the entire BP up.

Is throwing a few pitches in the BP tonight going to impact Ax tomorrow. Probably not. But I gotta think having our BP warm up too much is going to cost us at some point. If it didn't why wouldn't every team have a pitcher warming up from the 6th inning on just in case.

I do not know Brian Westbrook. I know someone whose mother's maiden name is Westbrook, and who told him he's distantly related to Jake. Probably too distant for them to have ever met. And my friend is a Brewers fan, so he's not going to let a little thing like blood send him to the dark side.
Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.
