Good thing we didn't base our decisions on 6 year sample sizes. Zero percent chance of keeping this up seems a bit low. He's been keeping it up for quite a while now.

Why is it a good thing? Even after his hot streak, the OPS is sub-par for a major league shortstop. And his defense has been terrible. He's elevated himself from the worst starting shortstop in the league this season, to one of the worst. You're being short-sighted in the name of defending the front office (which does not define the franchise). It still has been a poor choice to employ him as the team's starting shortstop. I hope he stays hot, so it ended up working out fine for us, but he probably will not based on the six year sample. He wasn't as bad as he playing earlier in the season nor is he near as good as he's played since the all-star break.

Does his recent hot streak improve his league-worst defense at short?

Just looking at the stats, Betancourt should have been replaced. But the Brewers have been great at negating his shortcomings. First, they started the crazy infield shifts to make up for his bad range. Now, Sveum has balanced his swing. Too bad you can't teach plate discipline.

Yuni also deserves credit for his attitude. He is always smiling out there and appear to be having a good time.

Now that we have insurance, it will be easy to bench him if he regresses in September when Weeks comes back. But for now, you throw out the 6 year sample and ride the hot streak.

They do and they don't. The shifts probably helped some but our defense would look much better if we had a SS with good range positioned like Yuni has been. We still see several balls a week that an average SS gets to.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

A shame we didn't sit Betancourt like many were suggesting a week ago. We could have avoided all of these recent, horrible, horrible performances he;'s been having.
Good thing we kept Betancourt unlike many have been suggesting all season. We've benefited so much from his overall subpar offense, horrible on-base skills, and atrocious defense.

Man even when Yuni is hot people have to rip on him. He is a crappy SS everyone knows that; get over it. Besides he probably not even the worst defensive player on the team; that goes to Prince.
Yep. I actually think some people root for Yuni to fail.

Guy, blame the fans who are demanding retractions from those who said it was a mistake move. That's what is prompting bringing up the fact about his overall season. I am enjoying his current contributions.
