Yeah I agree he may not be a Ben Sheets type but he was the Astros top pitching prospect I think and there was no reason to bring him up and get his arby clock starting now with such a waste of a team.

I think the point is rushed up, eating up service time for no reason and putting unnecessary wear and tear on his arm.

Got it. Thanks. Yeah it does seem like there is no point in wasting Lyles' service time and putting wear on his arm

Good job by Greinke of throwing strikes after the walk but at the same time not making it easy on Martinez to cut the lead in half.

By the way, I don't think Coshun knows what ironic means. Greinke is undefeated AT HOME and much worse away. That's closer to what you would expect.

Coshun is easily one of my least favorite announcers of all-time. At least he's worked very hard in order to eliminate saying "uh" every 3rd or 4th word like he used to...

That hit by Braun would've been a HR in Maryvale (thinking that many aspects of this game reminds me of a Spring Training game. I'm half expecting Eric Farris, Brendan Boggs and Martin Maldonado to make appearances in the late innings)

I think at the very least Dale Sveum deserves a raise.

And I stand corrected for criticizing Roenicke's lineup. The Astros are that bad.

In retrospect ... giving Casey, Corey, and a few of the supporting fellas back to back days off for the big Cardinals series might be a genius move. Well done Ron. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Thank god Melvin ignored the haters and we kept Yuni. Probably one of the hottest SS in the league.

He certainly is hot but there's about a zero percent change he keeps up this pace. Based on the 6+ year sample size we have to look at, he will most likely revert to being a poor offensive player...and...he is still a terrible defender no matter how well he is swinging the bat.

You have to go all the way to Page #4 of the Major League Forum to find the "what vlaue does Yuni bring to the club" thread.

Thats where I like it. He has been crazy good since the all star break

Is that farther back than the Greinke talk me off a ledge thread? We had some guys under-performing the first half of the year and they are picking it up now. Zach's ERA all the way down to 4.2. Since the start of July he has pitched 43 innings and given up 10 ER while racking up 53 K's. Those are ace numbers

Yuni is absolutely on fire right now. Stay hot, Yuni!

He sure is. And just thinking about the folks here who had him gone and wanted guys like Barmes to replace him. Would have been a lateral move a few weeks ago and now it would just be awful. Just another example of just doing the opposite of what is talked about here works almost everytime.
