The White Stripes - "Icky Thump"

brettac1

Well, thoughts?

I think it's a pretty solid album. That riff in the title track is one of my very favorites ever. The album gets kind of weak in the middle with "Prickly Thorn, But Sweetly Worn", "St. Andrew" (especially), and "Little Cream Soda", but the five songs that bookend those three on each side are all very good. I'd say it's about a 3.5 out of 5, or so.

It honestly probably sounds better if you have a crappy stereo, though. There is so much low end on this album that it can give you a headache, sometimes the thumps are too icky.

"300", "Catch Hell Blues", and "Martyr" and 3 of my favorites on the album. I like the whole thing really. 4 stars for me. I actually like the low end on the album, makes it seem grittier or...I don't know. Like I've always said, I think it's impossible for him to write a bad album.

It's alright, but nothing I'd listen to more than a couple times.

You Don't Know What Love Is (You Just Do As You're Told) is probably my favorite on the album.

I like the intro
