How critical is the #2 Seed?

lcbj68c

What would be great is if we pass the Giants and win the Central. (If we win the WC we're playing at Philly). It is easier to beat Philly in 5 than 7. That means there would be a chance for the Giants to knock off the Phillies. We would have the home field all three rounds of the playoffs and wouldn't have to face the best team in the NL.

That is the dream scenario. I just want to get back to the playoffs.

The Brewers are now on pace for 90 wins. If they can keep winning, maybe this title could change to "How critical is the #1 seed?"

Blue font? The Phillies are 9 games ahead of us. We're not catching them.

Just a little positive thinking. People say we're too negative around here :-)

No one is catching the Phillies. That team was almost uncatchable before getting Pence and they will get Oswalt back soon. The Giants on the other hand can be caught. Their hitting is bad which puts a ton of pressure on that staff. Voglesong has been pitching out of his mind and if he comes back to earth that rotation may not be dominant enough with Zito hurt and Sanchez just getting back from injury.

Getting a series at home against the Braves most likely would be great. They have a very good rotation but their bats have struggled as well. Let the Giants and Phillies beat up on each other and then get the winner. Obviously, we have to make the playoffs first which definitely not a given but it is fun to speculate
