Sure Sanchez is younger and what not, but the Pirates almost have to pick him up. That's about as easy and cost effective of an upgrade as it gets.

 

Overbay hit .227/.300/.349 in 103 games for Pirates last year. I don't think he's remembered all that fondly or considered an upgrade. His numbers this year in AZ were in a very small sample.

 

Ishikawa has 2 more HR and 8 more RBI than Overbay in virtually the same amount of AB's. I don't think LO would be any better.
