2011-08-02 Cardinals (Garcia) at Brewers (Marcum) [Brewers lose, 8-7, 11 innings]

I wonder the reason Tony put that out there about the led lights , was to maybe mess with the Brewers head.

I highly doubt anything La Russa said would affect the players. Half of them probably aren't even aware there was an issue.

This strikezone has killed Marcum. Yeah a lot could have gone either way but he hasn't gotten any borderline calls.

His defense behind him killed Marcum way more than the strikezone

Exactly. That inning was all about why the Brewers likely aren't championship-caliber.

This is why we wanted Lopez starting. Wilson hasn't played for over a week, he looked awful at the plate and a bad defensive play (even though it was a tougher hop, I think Lopez would've got it).

I'm no prince apologist and get super frustrated with his crappy throws, etc, but I think lucroy could have done better on that play. Jumped way more wildly than it looked like he needed to, then hesitated for some odd reason, then tagged high on the body instead of down at the feet on the plate.

Throw the ball to where Lucroy doesn't have to even reach up at all. Really, its not a hard thing to do and something a MLB player should be able to do damn near every time he makes a throw

I'm sure somebody already said it, but kinda stinks that Prince threw home and instead of taking out #2 there. Marcum could've been out of the inning with a 3-2 lead.

Lot of game left, though.

Let's not forget about Hart either. He gets Pujols with ease at third if the throw is on the bag. Hart has always had a very inaccurate arm though.

Wow, as much crap as McGehee gets defensively, he does make some nice plays sometimes. Although he usually is better going to his right than left.
