Bucs pitchers continue to defy sabermetrics: Braves had 11 hits through 9 and only managed one run. Maholm had 8Ks.

I don't get it; Maholm was awful the last few years.

Maholm's FIP in 2010 4.18 in 2011 3.94. He's basically the same pitcher with a lower BABIP and a lucky strand rate.

I do not see ANY other scenario than the Brewers travelling to Philly for games 1 & 2.

well OK let me hedge... perhaps a 1.2462% chance of hosting the Braves if we can someone get 16 games above .500 (89 wins) to trump the Giants.

While I admit that the odds are less than I thought, the Braves could still pass the Phillies and win the NL East, which would also send the Brewers to Atlanta. With the Giants acquiring Beltran today, that reduces the odds of the Brewers making up the 5 games needed to catch SF.

But it doesn't matter anyway since a pitching duel against the Phillies will likely come down to 1-2 big hits, which could easily be provided by Braun and Prince, regardless of who is hitting 6-8.

ESPN's GameCast struggles with high/low pitches, I've noticed, which is a shame because it's a cleaner look than MLB.com.
Yeah, it operates a lot better on my computer for some reason too. Thanks though, that makes sense as they had pitch 2 and 3 inside the top of the zone.
