Alexei Ramirez

Kenny Williams stated that he might "turn over the entire roster" if the White Sox are unable to get back into the race in the Central. Any chance the Brewers have the ammo in the farm system to land him? His .270/.332/.402/.734 would look great in the Brewers lineup.

If we're going to spend a ton on a SS, and one from the White Sox at that, I'd rather move Beckham back to his natural position and grab him.

Though it'd be tough to go wrong with either given how terrible Betancourt is.

I think he was talking about older guys like Dunn, Konerko, Rios, Buehrle, Jackson, Peavy, Pierzynski and Vizquel. I don't think he means the young, cheaper guys like Ramirez and Beckham, but I could be wrong.

Yeah, would have to guess Ramirez isn't on the list of people they are going to try to move if they do blow it up. He is right there with Tulo, Hanley and Reyes in the top tier of shortstops and should easily provide plenty of surplus value through 2016 assuming good health.

Brewers don't have the prospects to make it happen - he's been one of the better shorstops for a few years running and with his youth, a lot of teams would be interested.

I also think the whole thing is BS, White Sox are 3.5 games back with guys like Dunn playing the worst baseball of their lives, they are far from out of it and Kenny Williams always seems to try and go for it.

Rameriz would be awesome. But I don't see ChiSox dealing him. They can build around him (after blowing up the other guys). He fields very well, hits well (not great OBP, but decent average and power for the position). He should put up a WAR of 4.0+ for the second straight year. That's a guy I'd take in a heartbeat. I doubt the Sox would be giving him away.
