Worst call I've ever seen in my life...
This. I'm all for the Pirates losing, but not like that. To play 19 innings and get sent home on that call is ridiculous. There has to be some kind of accountability.

Now that Casey got a big hit, I think he should go back to hitting fifth. Jerry Meals says it's safe. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

I'm probably overreacting to the overreaction to that call but I don't think it was the worst call I've ever seen. It was a terrible tag by the catcher, and even on slow motion replay it's pretty close as to whether he grazed his leg with the glove or not. Do I think he got him? Yes, but it's a lot closer than what the reaction has been. In real time I might have called him safe too since on the high speed swipe his glove didn't even deviate from it's position as it went past the runner's leg so it's hard to tell if contact was made. Unless the catcher was going to throw to first there was no need to do a swipe tag like that.

Well, he was going to throw to first because Scott Proctor tripped over his own feet and it was an easy double play.

i HATE when umpires make a safe call just because the ball beat the player to the plate. But when the ball beats him by THAT much, it has to be absolutely clear that the tag missed, the player slid around it, etc. That was not the case here.
