Maybe this will be the Cy Young version of Greinke shows up, or at least a version close to that one. I hope so at least.

It would be very nice to win this game, then just try to snag one against the Giants and we'll have a 6-5 West Coast swing before coming home against the Cubs and Astros. That sounds nice.

How do you think RRR proceeds with the Gomez injury? Have Plush start everyday in the 2 hole? Does he move down to the bottom of the order when they face a lefty and Lucroy moves into the 2 hole? Does Brett Carrol take over Gomez role in the CF platoon?

Carroll will just replace Gomez's role until Melvin trades for a new CF.

I really hope DM does not trade for the RH part of the CF platoon. Morgan plays 3/4 of the time as it is. I doubt anyone that Melvin can pick up would be better than Carroll and if they are its probably not worth what it would take to get them given our holes at SS and 3rd.

If he can improve the position, why wouldn't he? Keep in mind that he could trade for someone to not only platoon in CF, but be a better 4th OF than Kotsay and possibly take some starts in LF if Braun's injury nags or RF is Hart struggles. It's more important than most people think. There's options out there that would be reasonable. So obviously not Beltran.

Reed Johnson, Coco Crisp, Melky Cabrera, Marlon Byrd. Obviously Reed Johnson is the most realistic. Byrd would be great if the Cubs ate some of his contract. But really Beltran is the only person coming at an outrageous price at this point. I'd be happy with Johnson.

Can we just agree to call Brett Carroll "Brett". Every time I see Carroll come up and see people talking about what role Carroll should have with the team, I get all excited thinking the Brewers traded for Jamey Carroll.

I feel like this Diamondbacks series has gone on forever. I'll be impressed if I make it past the second inning for tomorrow's 10:15 start time.

"Carroll" also makes me think of Jamey (aka creepy eyebrows guy), so I'll go along with calling #15 Brett.

With all due respect to our MT/PT bf.netters, I am glad Friday is the last really late start time.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I understand what Kranitz was trying to say about Greinke, but we just can't play the "throw the poor performances" out game. No one has a good explanation why he's struggled in spurts in most every game, but it's happened consistently, so it doesn't seem correct to just dismiss what he's done.

I think with many of us being from Wisconsin, calling any athlete Brett makes us cringe.
Huh? Brett who? That might be a problem if his name were Aaron Carroll, but I don't recall anybody named "Brett" to play sports in Wisconsin.

I was sitting at the bar last night watching the game and a buddy of mine said to me, "Im not sure I've ever seen Yuni hit a groundball." I just laughed and nodded in agreement.

As I type it he rips a shot at the pitcher...
