Having been on a major league club somewhere for the past 4 years, I'm sure that he was looking for something better than AAA. WIth JD Drew out, I'm sure he is looking at an outside chance at being a backup outfielder for the Red Sox. There was no good reason to stay with the Brewers since acquiring Hairston, and the possibility of a late season Gomez returning.
