The only difference between the #1 and the #5 pitcher is that the #1 gets to start Opening Day. How could you even think about taking Narveson out at this point?

No the difference is your #5 pitcher isn't as good. You take him out because you have a chance to blow the game open and its very likely you'll have to pull him soon anyway and Hawkins or Saito would be a better choice to pitch the 7th anyway.
