I have been so/so on RR. Some things I like, some I don't. But this has got me so fired up, I can't even tell you. To hide behind the chicken bleep mantra that Krod/Ax must pitch every 8th and 9th inning in save situations. How can you not be watching the game, and have a feel for the fact Narvy wasn't gutting it through 7, he was cruising.

Even if Krod,Ax sailed through their innings, it's using them when you don't need to. Now you get the worst outcome, a loss and shot in the gut.

Bad base running, bad defense, bad managing... I just hate losing games that way.

And what happens if Narveson gives up runs in the 8th? Then RR is an idiot for not using K-Rod. The double standards on here are starting to make me wonder if I'm on jsonline.com/stupididiotcomments
It's not a double standard. No one said Narveson had to pitch the entire 8th. They just wanted to see him start it until he gave up at least a baserunner.

One thing about not walking the bases loaded is that it gives the pitchers' freedom to pitch however they want instead of keeping it in the zone.
Definitely true, but I do think they should've at least walked Roberts to setup a traditional DP. There have been other games this year with a guy on 3rd, no out, fresh count on the hitter and he won't walk the bases loaded. I can understand continuing to pitch to Young tonight since he had two strikes on him when the runner got to third, though.

With the amount of balls that fly out of Chase with relative ease, Narveson is limited to probably one base runner. Why not use K-Rod? Isn't that what we got him for? Do you want Narveson on 90 pitches or a fresh K-Rod? The real problem here is Prince Fielder. NOT RRR!!!!!!!!

Well, that's reaching for something that's not there. Especially since I posted my frustration the second i saw Krod on the mound. And Narvy never could have given up RUNS in the 8th, if handled properly.

Not sure if you are watching the game or not but Narveson's stuff was just filthy. Personally, if he allowed one HR with nobody on base I wouldn't have been mad because they would've still been up 2-1.

I'm not sure I'm going to be able to handle September if they keep playing games like this. If this 8th/9th inning was in a crucial pennant race game, the items on my desk would be all over the room right now.

It's 12:35 here...at this point I'm sticking it out and opening a beer.
