Braun's back.

Hart 9

Morgan 8

Braun 7

Fielder 3

Weeks 4

McGehee 5

Betancourt 6

Lucroy 2

Gallardo 1

I guess I can now feel comfortable stating I believe RR may be insane. Because, by definition, it is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Continuing to put Betancourt and McGehee in his everyday lineups after their continual miserable play is making my theory that much more plausible.

Yeah, it pisses me off that he keeps putting them in there but really he doesn't have many options. He could put Wilson in there, but he probably already missed out on his chance to keep him hot by not playing him yesterday. It's really annoying, but Melvin needs to bring someone in or this won't change.

Haudricourt and McCalvy tweeted Braun won't play the full game tonight as they're going to ease him back in, but it is no cause for panic. It'll be like spring training for him, I guess.

He never should have played over the weekend then. I said at the all-star break they should've just retroactively DLed him and he would've been gone for like 5 more days with full rest and we could've called up Boggs/Gamel/Green/etc. for another bat. I think he tried to come back too early and now this thing is just going to nag for awhile.

Betancourt back in there, and ahead of Lucroy no less.
To be fair, Lucroy isn't exactly hot right now, either, and really hasn't been for awhile.

I really have no issues with the lineup, but the Braun situation is irritating. If he's not healthy enough to play a whole game, he shouldn't be risking further injury by playing at all. And if he's not going to play at all, the team shouldn't be forcing itself to play a man short every night. The team could withstand a Braun 15-day DL stint, but every time they use him as a pinch-hitter or let him play 5 innings they're wasting a day they could've retroactively had him on the DL. Now they're stuck in a situation where he might heal before 15 days are up so they don't want to make the move.

This is just me speculating, but my guess is at this point it is going to linger for most of the year, so it is all management at this point.

They likely sent him for that second MRI to ensure there wasn't any structural damage to see if he could play through it without injuring it further. Without any tear he'd realistically may have to sit out three weeks to a month for it to fully heal and feel normal, which is something the team likely couldn't withstand while in a playoff race. I'm sure he knows that and probably had a say in staying active. As much as an outfielder has to run they really can't coddle him as much as someone at a more stationary position. They can tell him to run at 50% on the bases though and monitor his outfield innings.

SoCal,

Do you think RRR thinks that in depth......I'm beginning to think not. I like that idea though. I think Gallardo has a big night tonight 7 innings 2 runs no earned on a yuni b error. Casey McGhee homers........Other then that I won't predict the score. Let's see how off I am.
