"The longer I play him, the longer 'Yuni' sits out," said Roenicke. "I don't want 'Yuni' sitting out too long. I still want him to have the opportunity to get it back together. We'll see how tonight's game goes. I may have Josh back in there tomorrow or the next day."

As for future plans at short, Roenicke said, "It's who is playing better. I don't know if it's strickly 50-50 (in splitting time).

Oh joy...Slightly encouraging, but very discouraging at the same time. The fact that he even thinks Yuni can get it together, or ever had it together, really bothers me.

Yuni's been the starter all year. You can't blame a manager for wanting his starter to get things together, rather than lowering the axe all at once. Frankly, the difference between the two isn't all that much, and platooning isn't a terrible thing. It only bothers people who have an intense hatred for Yuni and exaggerate about how bad he is.

That's it in a nutshell. This is Yuni Betancourt, a very undisciplined hacker with very little range defensively. His terrible play this year isn't some aberration.

Greinke having an ERA over 5 is an aberration. Even McGehee is having a year so bad that it is surprising to some degree. Nothing about Betancourt's miserable play has surprised me at all.

Yuni only getting 1/2 of the starts would be a major improvement.

It would be nice to get that new shortstop sooner or later. I wish teams didn't wait until the last minute to make deadline moves.

The Yankees/Rays game was delayed for 15 minutes after lightning struck Tropicana Field, knocking out some lights.

Unfortunately, the "ballpark" was not destroyed. I guess that it why it used to be called the "Thunderdome".

RR just wants to be viewed as a nice guy. He wasn't concerned about Wilson sitting for weeks on end so now for some reason Yuni sitting 2 games is as much as he can take?

You made the change...now give the new guy a legitimate run at it.

You know what you have in Yuni and it ain't good.

Maybe Wilson is better maybe not but lets find out.

Well the point is that Yuni never should have been the starter all year. He really shouldn't have been the starter at all but there weren't other options to start the year. Since Yuni played so poorly and Wilson was at least competent, then yes we can blame the manager now. And I never had an intense hatred for Yuni, I wanted him to get a fair shot. He more than got that shot so someone else should get the chance now.

That is funny, it makes me think you don't feel he is a bad player. Simple fact is he is one of the worst everyday players in the league, and has no business being the starting short stop for a contending team.

Nice T-Plush!

Morgan runs into another out, but it was probably a good decision to run there. Bloomquist made that throw from his knees.

I might've said good decision if McGehee was still hitting 5th but with Rickie up, I would've held him.

And more stupid baserunning...

That is on Sedar he was waving him home the whole time. Nice throw by Bloomquist though.

I know Sedar sent him, the 3rd base coach can contribute to stupid baserunning.
