What Brewer Players Do You Enjoy Watching The Least?

I'm going to stay away from the obvious YuBet vote, who may be the least liked player in Brewers, Royals and Mariners history.

So far in 2011...Zack Greinke.

My expecations were not at his 2009 level, but were certainly in the low 3's for ERA. He seems to completely unravel when something doesn't go his way. The Yankee game with Nyjer slipping. The Rockie game when Lucroy doesn't make a good throw. The Twins game with a 6-1 lead. There are games when it seems like he lacks the heart of a competitor or is just not mentally in it and that scares me.

It's like I want to grab him and say: "Yeah Zack, the D let you down but you're our Ace! Get the next guy!"

As a side, my other vote is for whatever pitcher comes out and immediately throws Ball 1 consistently...I'm looking at you Chris Narveson and Randy Wolf.

I vote McGehee not because he cant hit, but because he the slowest non catcher Ive ever seen, which is painful to watch. He never, ever looks like he is hustling or striding as far as he can when he runs. His caught stealing on a hit and run this year was one of the most embarrassing displays of athleticism Ive ever seen, I feel like every member of the Packers O-Line is faster than him. It would almost be worse if he was giving it 100% when he runs because that would make him slower than a dead turtle at top speed. I wonder what his 40 time would be, something like 6 seconds maybe?

1) Loe - the wind-up, delivery, location...just nothing about his pitching makes me feel like it's going to work

2) Gomez - I would much rather just not care about a player (like AT with Wilson) than to be absolutely freaked out every time he's out of the dugout

3) Betancourt - no need to pile on...it is what it is

4) Hart - I know someone mentioned him before, and this has nothing to do with not liking him as a player. This is strictly just that uncomfortable feeling I get from watching him play. It just doesn't fit...he's too tall and lanky to do the things he does. Why do we have a guy leading off that's 6 foot a thousand? It just feels awkward. It reminds me of being a bagger at a grocery store and picking something up that you think is going to be heavy, but you quickly realize that it's much lighter than you anticipated...but it's too late, and you just yanked it up as hard as you can and it almost flies out of your hand, and the customer is looking at you like you're an idiot. That's kinda how it feels to watch Corey Hart play baseball, and it freaks me out that he's so successful doing it. The beard made it a little better, and I don't know why.

5) Kotsay - I'll admit this is partially skewed by having to watch Kotsay come in for Braun when he had tightness the other night and we suddenly didn't have that scary as hell punch of Braun-Fielder for pitchers to deal with.

Can we open this up to former Brewers as well? If so, Francisco Cordero has my vote.

No way, I loved watching Cordero pitch. If we're talking previous decade...Johnny "First Pitch" Estrada, and it's not even close.

If I had Braun's pee in my fridge I'd tell everybody.

Hate to pile on with the consensus, but Yuni is just cringe worthy in all aspects of his game...bad at defense (his fundamentals are sooooo bad...get in front of the dang ball and square up!), hitting (lousy uppercut swing without the power and no plate discipline) and baserunning (he's not that fast and makes dumb decisions on the basepaths). I root for him because he's a Brewers and hope I'm wrong, but I know I'm not...the guy is just awful and I can't stand watching him.

He has replaced Braden Looper as my least favorite Brewer...that guy just had a dumb look on his face all the time...made me think he didn't care.

Tim Dillard. I feel like he never contributes anything productive, although the statistics say he has pitched well a few times this year. Usually he comes in after I have already turned the game off. Every other Brewer (including Yuni) has at least brought me some excitement at one point or another.

1) Bettencourt - Obvious

2) Loe - Up until last year, the guy's career has been "unspectacular" to say the least. He has some success last year and suddenly he became our set up guy?

3) Grienke - Nothing really to do with how he's pitching this year. I just question this "desire to win" that I have heard so much about. He never hustles out a ground ball (hit by him). Pitcher or not, you run out every ball hit in play...one of my pet peeves. It's not even so much that he doesn't hustle (I realize many MLB players hustle out every grounder - to my chagrin), but sometimes he barely jogs out of the box. I guess I would also like to see a little emotion from him when he is not pitching well (swear into your glove..something) or if he does pitch well. I could see him pitching a shutout in game 7 of the World Series and then just standing on the mound after he strikes out the last batter with that half smile, because it would look foolish to show any emotion.

Weeks and Fielder are two of my favorite players to watch....mainly because of #3 above. Weeks never dogs it to first.

Yuni in the field - the guy looks lazy too often. He lets balls go through the hole without much of an effort. While Prince and McGehee stink in the field, it doesn't look as if they aren't trying hard.

Gomez and Yuni at the plate. They swing at so much junk it's unbelievable. It just frustrates me.

Counsel at the plate. He looks like he's going up there hoping to get a walk. Painful.

I honestly don't hold it against Yuni. He doesn't bother me because he's talentless. It's not his fault guys--it's the idiots who let him play; they upset me. Josh Wilson? I have a sneaking suspicion that he does not even have a modicum more talent than Yuni. It's a bell curve world and the Yuni/Josh is the hind teat on the chart. (sorry for the mixed metaphor)

The guy who really makes me cringe is Wolf. Everytime he pitches he publicly throws our young catcher under the bus because he's not man enough to be a team player. I cannot wait for him to leave Milwaukee. I hope the ending is ignoble.

Love to watch Weeks--fav Brewer, but it's hard to listen to him postgame.

Loe and Counsell. Last year I was a big booster of Loe, but this year, he's warn out his welcome. I always curse at the TV when he comes in. I know Counsell is a favorite here, but I have absolutely no faith that he will hit the ball hard.

Randy Wolf. Mostly for the Lucroy stuff, but I just can't stand watching non-hard throwing lefties (don't want to say soft tossing cause I don't think he's that slow) nibble and constantly have high pitch counts. I know he hasn't had a ton of walks this year, but it seems like once a start he'll have that 30+ pitch inning.

I feel really bad for McGehee and really like the guy, but he needs to be put out of his misery at this point. He just has that look like he knows he can't figure it out.

What about the one rocket foul ball down the RF line that is mandatory in a Counsell at bat?

OK, hit the ball hard in play. Generally Counsel at bats have three outcomes- a walk, a weak pop up to the left, or a ground out.

1. Betancourt

2. McGehee (Have wanted Gamel over him for years. McGehee is no better defensively.)

3. Wolf

4. Kotsay

5. Counsell

Favorites to watch would be Weeks, Fielder, Marcum, Morgan, Gomez. The CF platoon is awesome.

Loe: woefully misused this year, but he has blown enough games, so he qualifies.

McGehee: has outlived his usefulness as a major leaguer, imo.

Counsell: same reasons as McGehee

Hart: can't really put my finger on it, but he annoys me. I can't forgive him for his epic swoon in Sept/Oct 2008.

Betancourt: I don't think I need to say anything.

Wolf made my list tonight. First inning, George went out to the mound, and Wolf looked like he was all pissy about it. He seemed to carry on that demeanor for the rest of the game and it just annoyed me to no end. Did anyone else get the same vibe?

I was extremely sick of seeing Wolf out there tonight. It's gotten to the point where everything he does bugs me.

His sissy fit after popping up the sac bunt, coupled with his fit when he thought the flyout to Nyjer was a HR were just a few examples of things I just dislike watching with Wolf.

I vote for Hart for not using his God given speed. He hasn't seen an infield single since Carter was President.

I don't know if Hart isn't hustling 100 percent on every play, but either way this year more than at any time i see a noticeable decline in his speed both on the bases and in the outfield.

As for most disliked player, i hate copying everyone else, but i haven't disliked watching a player more than Yuni Betancourt since Johnny Estrada was catching for us. He could hit a bit for a catcher, but man there was nothing about that guy to like. Out of shape. Often lack of hustle. Undisciplined hacker like Yuni. Didn't seem very likable personally.

There was a game i believe in Arizona with Estrada playing for the Brewers. He hit a ball a little bit to the right of the shortstop who didn't field the ball cleanly, yet he still threw out Estrada by quite a bit because his lazy butt was basically jogging to first base. Then he had to nerve to laugh about it.
