2011-07-16 Brewers (Greinke) at Rockies (Chacin) - [Brewers win, 8-7, on Weeks homer]

it is nice to see our 3 best hitters in the 3-4-5

Why? This gives our best hitter one fewer AB than the top guys. I don't like this lineup. Looks like panic to me.

Not sure why Rickie protecting Prince and getting more RBI opportunities is a bad thing.

It gives fewer PA for Fielder and Braun with hitters on base.

Protection is also a myth. Walking Fielder is not a bad thing for us. It puts more guys on base. You obviously don't believe that but have been around here long enough

to have read a few threads about it so I am not going to bother wasting

my time trying to change your mind.

I'd rather have Rickie 1, followed by Ryan, Prince and Corey 4th...but that's just me.
This. It is never going to happen though. More OBP at the top of the order. I would argue against Fielder 3rd but batting our 5th best hitter leadoff(Morgan is better than Hart against a RHP) makes no sense. I know it is only one game but if people are going to talk up this lineup then I will point out the flaws.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

If I don't see Green get an opportunity soon, Melvin and RR will owe me a new television. This has pissed me off more regarding this team than anything I can think of in the past ten years. Should be interesting with Rickie in the 5 hole. Hopefully he will provide some protection.

I fail to see how walking Prince is a good thing for us when our 5 spot has a combined OPS under 600.
That's on DPR. Move up Lucroy and he will knock the runs in.

I'm not a fan of moving one of your best hitters 4 spots down in the lineup either. All that was really done was flipping Hart and Weeks. Why?

Weeks takes more pitches and walks more. Hart doesn't. I'd rather have the guy that is going to take a walk in front of Morgan and Braun, than McGehee and whoever bats 7th. I suppose you could say that's because Weeks has been leading off. Hart still has times where he reverts back to not being able to lay off that low outside slider.

I don't know, whatever. I wouldn't expect much tonight anyway. Rockies have their best pitcher this year on the mound.

Also, I think part of the reason for not putting Morgan first is because you have a R - L - R - L - R lineup with the way it is.
