2011-07-15 Brewers (Narveson) at Rockies (Nicasio) - [Brewers lose, 4-0; Braun hit streak ends]

I think its the twins but not sure.

Somehow I don't think this is the "role" RR had in mind for Ax when they aquired Krod but if they wait to use him until we have a lead on the road he might get the whole road trip off so go get em Ax!

I don't know how good/bad they are, but I know they are boring. I'm not saying this just to be annoying. This has got to be the least interesting Brewer team to watch in several seasons, which is disappointing because I expected they'd be fun this year.
A stationary left side of the infield is pretty boring, I'll give you that.

Has anyone done the research to find the worst road-winning percentage to ever win a division?

Haven't spent more than 5 seconds looking but the first team to pop into my head was the 2006 Cardinals who were 34-47 on the road.

Edit: Axford isn't boring.

the reds series last weekend was just a little bit exciting.

Fair point.
You may run like Mays...

The Brewers could leave Mil in first place and come home out of the race and sellers.

Melvin will never sell.

Agreed. He has too much invested in this team by his supposed win-now moves that he will play this thing out...hoping to God that Yuni, Casey, and Counsell somehow become serviceable players...

Even if the Brewers go 0-11 on this trip they should not sell. Somebody in the NL Central has to make the playoffs. The Brewers have an easy schedule after this trip and plenty of head to head games against the Pirates and Cardinals.

Lets not get carried away because they lost 2 games in a row.

Maybe we need to do a non-traditional in game thread tomorrow. Or just stop sucking on the road. For real though, the Rockies are a pretty good team and playing in Coors isnt easy on any pitcher. Also we are .5 back of the Pirates, for all the people already doubting this team I would be willing to bet my left leg the Pirates will not be in first or second this year.

The Pirates have been playing the Nationals and Astros for a month-look at their upcoming schedule: Reds, Cardinals, Braves, Phillies. That stretch will tell us if they are for real. After this road trip the Brewers schedule eases up for the rest of the season as well: Cubs Astros (twice), Pirates, Dodgers. This team is poised for a big August.

I posted about this yesterday in another thread in the Major League forum ("why do the Brewers hit so bad on the road"). Amazingly the 1987 Minnesota Twins won the World Series playing just over .333 on the road but destroyed teams in that dome at a .690 ish clip. Sound like a certain team?

That Twins team went 85-77 to win their division......

Our schedule doesn't ease up as much as you seem to think. The Cubs are always toss up games, 8 games against the Cardinals in August, 4 on the road against Pittsburgh, 3 at the Mets who have already won a series against us at Miller Park, then 4 more games against the Cardinals in September, 4 against the Phillies, 3 at the Reds.
