2011-07-15 Brewers (Narveson) at Rockies (Nicasio) - [Brewers lose, 4-0; Braun hit streak ends]

Rockies radio announcers recounting the Brewers road woes, citing errors and poor defense. They then went on to compare Prince and YuniB to Helton and Tulo to make an example of the poor defense. That's not even fair. LOL.

Errors and defense, sure, but you also need to score something north of 0 runs to win.

I knew I liked Brandon Phillips........

Somebody has to win this division right?

I posted in a game thread just before Braun got hurt that his hit streak might be the most exciting thing Brewer fans have to look forward to by the end of July. Turns out I was wrong, but only because the entire Central Division refuses to do anything to assert themselves. Now let's see Braun extend his streak.

It's all luck and random chance! If it can't be quantified by a metric, it's just "noise".

So if Narvy comes out for the 7th does the giving up a run every other inning trend continue?

Braun is not healthy. Not even close. He's running at about 80% and the calf is affecting his swing. Given how poorly everyone else iin the division is playing I don't know why they just didn't DL him. There is a fair chance he won't be right all year because he keeps playing on it.

I agree that he's a little slow running, but his swing looks fine. The calf didn't make him swing at that pitch a foot off the plate. Braun at 80% is fine, we need him.

I'm growing to despise good defense out of our opponents. I used to just accept it as the way the game should be played, but the left side of the Rockie infield has made at 4 plays tonight that the Brewer IF doesn't.

This is normally the time I'd redirect my boredom and blow a bunch of money playing online poker mostly due to being in a terrible, overaggressive mindset but the government took that away from me. Guess I'll have to invest in a new speed-bag for the basement.
