Just saw a blurb on MLB Trade Rumors that the A's are willing to "listen" on Josh Willingham. He's having a bit of an off year, but he has solid power, usually hits LHP very well, and is probably going to be a Type B free agent after the season, if draft pick compensation remains intact. He's not a guy you'd send up to the plate in a contact hitting situation or send into the outfield as a defensive specialist, but the Brewers lack power, and he's a power guy.

 

The problem being that about the only guys on the roster he'd replace right now would be Mark Kotsay and Josh Wilson and the Brewers seem to value both of them.

He's kind of expensive. $6 million total salary this year. Not sure how that would work since we'll probably need some money to upgrade SS before the trade deadline.

 

Don't see how he'd fit on the roster, really.
