Yovani Gallardo

Ubaldo Jimenez

4-8, 4.14

Jimenez has turned things around after a rough start. He held the Nationals to one run in eight innings and struck out eight in winning his last start, and threw a complete game in a close loss to the Brewers on May 22 (two runs, three hits).

Well although having to wait another day would be tough it would give Braun and extra day for his calf.

Considering Greinke, Hart, Lucroy and Plush were out for a month, Greinke and McGehee have severely underperformed, Yuni has been worthless and we had to battle through the tough interleague matchups, being in 1st place to start the 2nd half is pretty awesome.

Welcome back, Mr. Braun. Adding Braun & K-Rod is a pretty nice start to the second part of the season.

Here's to Casey having a huge series and breaking out of his slump.

Weather out here has changed quickly. Last week it has been sunny all day and then big storms roll in. Same is happening today and it may be an interesting evening. Not raining hard but it is getting dark and looks like there will be some rain on and off for the rest of the day.

I'm fine with Betancourt hitting 8th over Lucroy. Need some professional at bats out of that spot to clear the pitcher (even if the pitcher is Gallardo). I'm sure over the course of a season this won't have a huge difference in the amount of at bats between the two if they played full time anyway .

Wow...this lineup is almost where I want it to be. Flip Lucroy and YuBet and I would be doing flips in my office.

You mean Lucroy and McGehee.

in the amount of at bats between the two if they played full time anyway.

Here are the Brewers PAs by batting order position from last year, the 7 hitter got 15 more PAs than the 8 hitter. Of course the 2 hitter got 100 more than the 8 hitter which is why it was so frustrating when Gomez was hitting up there.

Split PA
Batting 1st 771
Batting 2nd 752
Batting 3rd 732
Batting 4th 717
Batting 5th 701
Batting 6th 682
Batting 7th 668
Batting 8th 653
Batting 9th 627

Happy to have Braun back in the lineup, although if it rains there is a bit of concern about how his calf will react to the potentially slick outfield grass. Too bad we're not playing in a park where he wouldn't have to cover as much ground in LF.

I hope the break gave Casey time to clear his head and get back on track. I have thought since the slump began that you give the guy until the series after the ASB to get his act together. Need results from him this series (as in I don't care how 'unlucky' someone says he is), or I call up Green.

If the 3 day vacation doesn't do it, you gotta send him down.

Curveball pitchers like Yo always scare me in the high altitude at Coors. I remember Sheeter always struggling there, and more recently Chad Billingsley also has had trouble getting good break on what is usually one of the league's nastiest curves

Rockies offense isn't what I thought it was. Tulo, Helton, Smith form a solid 3-4-5 but the other 6 are Betancourt/Gomez level hitters.
I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.
