Those are all easier said than done. If you listen to the board Wilson and Boggs could do the last two immediately. Which is completely wrong but are said quite often. They are just tough things to add without having great prospects and a bunch of money to spend. We really have neither. I would say just look for a solid bullpen arm and just live with the weak spots we have. That is what you should expect at least.

And as a result of this, you should expect to then miss the playoffs. Because our roster is not as complete as Cincinnati's or STL's. You need to make more improvements than a "solid bullpen arm" to compete when all is said and done.

And if that turns out to be the case (we don't have what's needed to make those upgrades), then play Wilson every day at SS (better glove at least) and make Counsell a coach and bring up someone from the minors with a decent bat. The lhp will have to be through trade though it looks.

If we can afford to add 1 player, it has to be a short stop. We at least have options in house to try at 3B, bullpen, bench bats. That or we really need to add a LOOGY like the Mitre trade but for a LHP, that should be very doable.
I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.

Until the Brewers simply make good plays on defense I can't say peep about good/great defense played against them. They trotted out a lineup that got handled by Dontrelle Willis today. It may as well have been Mark Fidrych. They're staring at a sub-.500 homestand to be followed by a long west coast roadie. Staying in 3rd (and out of 4th) place by the time they return home could be a challenge.

Good defense there by Rolen and Prince with a weak ground out on first pitch. Prince looks like he slowing down W/o his boy Braun in the lineup.

Fielder over the last 7 days has a line of .350/.440/.550, I think he's excelled.

His FB is actually down a bit this year, at 97.9 MPH average. I'm really happy Melvin didn't spend $30 million on Chapman.
Hehe... spending 30 million on 3 years of Wolf (possibly 40 million over 4) is better than spending 30 million on 6 years of Chapman is it?
